This photo is like magic to me. There is so much pure joy in his expression, it seems to defy the mundane surroundings, clothes on the line, empty beer cases awaiting disposal, a half-painted porch. I'm just in awe!

Jason Scott Lee is such a great guy. He is best known for his portrayal of Bruce Lee in the movie "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" and although he has had plenty of opportunities to expand his career in Hollywood, he has chosen a life of simplicity on his Pu Mu property located on the Big Island.

This truly was a dream assignment, flying to the big island to meet and photograph one of Hawaii's most beloved actors. Lee is personable, down to earth and welcoming. During my 24 hour shoot I documented the actor and his friends (Yako I miss you!) and even got a preview performance of "Burn This" held at his black box Ulua Theatre.

Unforgettable.
