I adore poppies! My Mom had some that were just like tissue paper and the color was so bright and beautiful. I love this layout and the story behind it. Beauiful.
It must be so beautiful to see IRL. I recently did a lo on the poem Flanders Fields. I haven't uploaded it because I made a mistake which I need to fix...I thought Flanders Fields were in France but my hubby was quick to tell me it was Belgium! Beautifully done and a heartfelt story!!
Lovely Rachel, They always look magnificent in a field all on thier own, I'm looking out of the window right now at blossom and bluebells, who could beat it? !!
For my circle journal friend Sherri, who asked us to show an area that we love from near our home. For me, this is always a breathtaking sight, even though it is relatively fleeting - not exactly an English stately home! The hidden journalling (on a pull out tag with the fleur de lis brad) just tells of how this reminds me of the sacrifice of servicemen in WW1 and 11, who gave their lives for our freedom, The poppy is worn on Remembrance Day, and reminds us not only of the blood spilt for us, but because they come once the fields are churned up or ploughed, reminds us of the trenches of Belgium and France. I am really moved by this swathe of poppies.
