I have some similar shelves. Turn them upside down and they work fine. You will have to empty them to do that though, ugh! My husband is "not allowed" in my room either.
My husband knows he's not allowed to even open the window in my room! He did that once to cool down my room-- I came home and all the paper and embellishments that were on my desk were all over the floor!
Your husband is a dear! My DH, on the other hand, *took* 1 of my 2 similar-sized (but Rubbermaid, so plastic) shelving to church and placed the sound system/recording equipment on it. Without asking me!! The gooberhead!!!
My husband surprised me with these shelves one day. I wasn't really happy with them, especially because they have a "lip" on a couple of the shelves. I have finally gotten used to them and now I actually like them. They hold a lot. I have a shoe rack hanging on the side (fits perfectly), which is great for storing and organizing hundreds of my embellishments. I have uploaded another picture of them, taken head on.
