I've been checking this stamp out for the longest time and finally put it in my cart... So glad I did... Makes great subtle backgrounds if you stamp it with a watermark or tone-on-tone colour, or a bold statement if you use black or a high contrast colour... And it looks so pretty done with embossing powder and then coloured with watercolours...
I do a lot of 'sea' cards. This is exactly what I have been looking for.
You can't find paper that looks like waves all the time. Now I can make my own with this large stamp! Love it!
Every once in a while Hero Arts steps out of the expected and produces a stamp like this. It stamps perfectly. This designs "reads" water at first glance, turbulent waves not friendly kids playing on the beach at all. This also reads as a sea of sand begging for silhouettes of camels and palm trees or other Egyptian images. As a geographer I see topographic lines from USGS maps in shades of greens perfect for hiking, backpacking and camping. Finally this makes great tone-on-tone backgrounds even in bright colors for an abstract effect. I love stamps that speak in all sorts of languages!
Hero Arts is one of my favorites and this particular stamp does not disappoint. I love it.
I love this stamp! It is great for abstract backgrounds and seascapes. I get fantastic results stamping and embossing the design and then adding ink.

Are the size of the waves on the Waves Background stamp the same as shown?

The waves ARE the size depicted in the picture of it. The waves cover the ENTIRE stamp- end to end- with no margins. You can create as dramatic a sea as you wish covering your ENTIRE A2 card as background. The stamp it great with any media you choose, watercolor, markers, pencils, embossed etc. If you are looking for a realistic "sea" background this will not disappoint.
