"thickness" of the cutout means how wide is the cut out of the frame itself? [This "woodgrained" thickness would be approximately the same all the way around.

According to the manufacturer, this set contains 5 dies, ranging in size from 4.55 x 5.46 to the smallest at 0.84 x 1.68. The thickness of the die-cut paper pieces would depend on your paper.
