Ok. I have been waiting for this every since I saw it was carousel coming months ago. I just got mine and started filling it tonight. I like to have a "ready to go" scrap area. I have noticed that over the years I have collected two of several of my most used favorite tools. (Scissors, Corner Rounder, Paper Piercer, anywhere hole punch, stapler, sanding blocks, ultra fine pens, etc)
I keep one set loaded in my All My Memories tote ready for cropping away from home. But it is really too tall for me to set on my counter and see down into. (Plus I have the old one without the carousel bottom) This Making Memories carousel is the perfect for me to see my tools and adhesive etc while sitting at my scrap area. The graduted levels are awesome and the drawers are great for my favorite colors of Mini Brads and Small Colorbox Cat Eye Chalk ink (five in each drawer if you put them on their side!)
I love that they included the spot for the labels. I am going to print labels on cute PINK paper to match my room. I may even decorate some of the white areas with matching pink rubons. This item is a great idea and well made. I think you will like it. Hope you have fun filling it up!
I've had the same white, revolving kitchen tool organizer on my drawing table for years. It has been home to all of my tools and I'd always dreamed of replacing it someday with something as useful and classy as this carousel.
I love the nameplate feature (did you know there's room behind the label to safely store a single-edge razor blade). I also love the small drawers. I appreciate that the revolving feature is stable. My drawing table has slight slope to it and my old carousel would always turn the heaviest side forward - this carousel doesn't do that.
I trimmed and old cutting mat to fit into the bottom of one of the side bins where I store tools that might otherwise mare the finish. I also saved the storage tubes from mini M&M's and have placed them other bins to help hold narrow tools upright more securely.
Thanks for such a useful and beautiful organizer, Making Memories. I'm a happy and loyal fan!

I was pleasantly surprised at the convenience of this storage carousel, and just how many items it holds. I was able to empty 4 drawers in a storage cart, and organize all the contents in this desktop carousel. I have various pairs of edging scissors, as well as cutting scissors, X-acto knives, a Fiskar hand drill, rulers, hand paper punches, embossing stylus, paint/chalk brushes, and glue sticks in the top level storage bins. In the small drawers, I have threading needles, cutting wheels for a rotary paper cutter, replacement blades for the X-acto knives, decorative paper clips, etc. This dekstop carousel matches the Making Memories and other brand's white storage drawer units, and really helps keep all the tools and products you use most often, close at hand, without fumbling through drawers to find them. This would also be a useful and attractive holiday gift too.
Well isn't it just cute? That is of course the first rule of anything your going to buy for your scrapbooking room. It must be cute! Then it must be functional. And this little guy is completely functional! I love my carousel. I have mine filled to the top with pens, pencils, rulers, glue, cutters and lots lots more. And it still rotates with out any problem. I love that it allows me to have everything I need right at my finger tips when I'm working in a limited space. No need to have 10 different containers cluttering up your space any longer. Everything fits right into this little guy. I have filled mine with many different things as my mood changes and it continues to take a beating from me and still looks great, and works wonderful. It is holding up great. I'm even thinking of buying another one!
I hemmed and hawed about this for months, because I've tried other things similar and been terribly unhappy and discarded things time and again. Well I love this carousel!! It holds way more then I thought it would -- I have ALL my fiskars scissers, ALL my water color pencills, ALL my markers, my punches, my cutting tools, my adhesives, and I still have 4 drawers empty!!
I simply HAVE to have things out in front of me or I won't use them. Everything I have is in some type of clear storage so I can readily see it. Most of what is in this carousel used to be in aboutr 7 canning jars on my table, and the other things were in clear drawers. This takes up half the space and is way more convenient. I am VERY happy with this purchase!!
I love this organizational tool! (see me blog 12.05.08). It has changed the way I scrap by making everything I use so convenient and easy to get to. I compared this product to the Pottery Barn carousel and there is much more room in this one.
They only *small* complaint: the drawers have magnets that should keep the drawers shut. Most of my drawers came with the magnets attached to each other and NOT attached to the back of the drawer wall. It didn't seem to make any difference in how the drawer worked - so I wasn't concerned about it, and I can reattached the magnets myself if I want to. The drawers stay closed even without the magnets, so I'm not even sure why they are there!

I've been weighing the pros & cons on this item for a while before I got one and now I just love mine. I scrap away with friends quite often and needed something portable, when I realized that the little drawers had magnets to hold them in place I knew this would work for me.
As mentioned in a previous review, I too had a AMM totally cool tote. It really was to tall for me. I found myself pulling stuff out and digging around just to find things in the AMM style tote. This system is the perfect height and the ball-bearings are of good quality and it spins very easy.
Maybe a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for and this is a tool that will last.

I am sooo glad that I finally got this and I had fun altering it too!! This has to be the sturdiest, and heaviest carousel I have seen on the market and well worth the money. My only complaint would be the metal the magnets stick to on the drawers were all loose on mine and stayed stuck to the drawer. It was no big deal with me because I painted my carousel and then reattached the metal parts using a stronger glue. So check the back of the drawers if you purchase one. I also loved that I was able to remove the hardware so I could paint it. Another Great product from Making Memories!!

Before I bought this carousel, I kept all my tools in my desk drawer having to open the drawer whenever I needed to get one out. Because I didn't want to keep opening the drawer, items would just stay out cluttering my small desk. Now that I have this handy carousel it is so easy to get the tool I need and then put it back right away. I like the varying size compartments and the easy to turn function. It also looks good with all my scrapbooking tools in display. I love this item! Yes, it is pricey, but you can use a coupon from Michaels or when I got it it was on sale.
I have been contemplating purchasing the carousel for quite some time. I finally decided to bite the bullet and I am SO glad I did!
I was actually able to clear several baskets and other containers off my desk. I am thrilled to have more workspace available now!
The carousel houses my markers, pens, pencils, scissors, hole punch, adhesives, rulers, distressing items (files, etc) and that isn't even including what I have in the drawers!!
Wonderful product. Well made and love the little space for labels! May be a little pricey but it's worth it!
