First,, I want to say that this review is not the fault of Scrabook.com—they have always provided outstanding service. I believe my bad experience with this product is a manufacturing issue.
I bought multiple transfers in this design both from Scrapbook and another vendor. The art is stunning, but they are not reliable. I had a horrible time getting them to stick and getting them to release from the carrier sheet. I flip furniture so I have used tons of transfers from various manufacturers. I have never had these problems. The biggest issue was that the ink was separating from the adhesive in spots. No matter how much pressure I used, it would not reattach. As a result, a design that was not supposed to be distressed now has to be distressed in order for those spots to look like they were intentional. I have a lot of time and money invested in this project, so I am not happy. I also have serious doubts about whether this transfer will even survive applying a top coat let alone last as the piece is used—the project for Cosmic Roses is kitchen cabinetry. I also bought several Rose Celebrations transfers for a bathroom, and I am having the same problems with them—two different woods, two different types of paint. One of the paints is actually Dixie Belle, which is often used to demo Prima transfers—so I am confident it’s not the paint.
With shipping, the purchase came to just over $300. I feel like I may as well set that money on fire.
Given that there were several transfers involved, from different merchants, and I tried EVERY tip I could find on the Internet (including some from Prima) and I still had serious problems, I have to say that I will probably never use a Prima Transfer again. There is definitely a Quality Control issue going on at Prima and I can’t afford to lose commissions due to bad product.
