In my experience barns are not painted primary red. They use a type of paint that is darker and a bit more maroon. The lid pictured here is NOT the color of the ink pad. The color is not pink or rose in any way. This is more the stereotype of a darkish brick red. I consider this a more realistic poinsettia flower red (which are not bright primary red at all). For all that I don't use it all that often. As strange as it sounds this is a coolish red even though it is so dark. At a glance you might think Fired Brick goes with Vintage Photo but when you put them together they don't mesh. That's because Fired Brick has a bit of blue which pushes it toward the purple side (NOT purple or wine though!). Reds are so powerful and strong that they stain everything given the chance. But Fired Brick does make a nice red apple which are not primary, while Barn Door is for stop signs and fire trucks. This stamp pad in my experience is only for specific projects.
I love the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad line. The Fired Brick is a nice red to add a touch of zip to your layouts. I love to use this in red, white and blue themed pages. These pads are easy to use and last a long time.

The red of this ink is very deep and absolutely gorgeous! It's great for inking edges and distressing pages.

i bought this expecting a deep red but this really has a big of burnt color to it more than the deep red. I returned it to the store.
It is a great dark color for distressing and has turned me into a lover of Distress Ink. I spend lots of time trying to think of different ways to use this ink and would totally recommend any who hasn't tried it to buy one and give it a shot.
Used for stamping on Xmas cards. A nice, darker red. All of Tim Holt’s inks are wonderful...inks up & prints very well.
This inks are the best! They come in a lot of colors and they're perfect for inking paper. One of the things I love the best too is that if you use this ink on a rubber/clear stamp you get this really great aged look. i just LOVE these!!!

I love the whole distress ink collection. This is a very red red and the raised ink pad part comes in really handy.
This is a vibrant addition to my distress ink colors. Keep the colors coming !
