Distress oxides contain mostly pigment ink, but also some dye ink, a type of ink that is opaque and due to its natural thickness, dries more slowly. You can choose to allow the ink to dry naturally or feel free to heat set it with a tool.
The inks are great for using with ink blending tools and foam. You can have a little more fun and use the inks with stamps, stencils, or direct to surface projects. These water-reactive dye and pigment inks create a fusion that makes an oxidized effect when you spray with water.
They work perfectly on light and dark surfaces. So have some fun and grab some dark backgrounds, the inks will cover up your background giving your project vibrant and super cool details!

I find that a white mask appears after a day or two if you use the ink dry, as a normal ink. Without adding water.
It's like the pigment rises to the top and leaves what looks like a white bloom on top.
Can be rubbed off with an eraser but it's not always possible depending on the project and changes the effect.
So creamy, such pure color and such interesting properties. These are wonderful additions to my crafting inks and techniques. LOVE THEM

What is the difference between Distress Ink and Distress Oxide?

Distress Ink is a dye based ink only and Distress Oxides are a hybrid mix of dye and pigment ink both inks react with water.

Your description for the Distress Oxide Ink pads is 2" x 2" however, everywhere else they are available in the 3" x 3" size. Is your description on size an error?

Hi the Sizzix oxide ink pad are exactly same size as the distress ink pad , no differents here
