Explore a fun mixed media project using the Crazing Distress Collage Medium by Tim Holtz for Ranger Ink. This gel medium is great for gluing, layering, and sealing your mixed media projects. The package includes one 3.8 fl. oz. jar of gel medium that dries translucent with a subtle crackle/craze matte finish.
I LOVE this product. I waited for it patiently as it's been sold out and it is so worth it. The crazing takes colour so well when you put ink or crayon over it, and makes the coolest textures on your product without threat that pieces will break off like with the crackle medium. You can put it through a stencil and let it crazy on its own, you can colour it, there's tons of stuff you can do out of it so I'm glad I got the big jar. :)
I bought this specifically to coat clear plastic Christmas ornaments to 'craze' them. Was not too happy with the result - it was kinda' cloudy and you could see more brush stroke than crazing. Ended up using the Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint Clear Rock Candy which was really clear and sparkly with distinct crazing. That being said - the Collage Crazing Medium was excellent when I used it on painted paper mache ornaments. Sits right next to the jar of Matte Medium on my work table.
This is a LOVELY product that goes on easily and quickly dries to a unique finish. It is great for simulating an aged look. I am using it on fussy cuts from G45 papers and some die cut butterflies.
I really like the Vintage Finish, but I may like the Crazing even better! Making Family photo boards with these two finishes. Very pleased with results.
I purchased these after watching a Tim Holt video on Pinterest. Like all his products they surpassed my expectations. He suggested to keep the brush wrapped in a baby wipe after using if you are going to use again for same project. I suggest you do as he said. i did get my brush back to like new but it took more cleaning. These give you an excellent even coat of medium.
