Questions & Answers
  • I re-inked my Black Soot Distress Oxide ink pad with regular Distress ink - Is there a problem with this?
Also, how often should you re-ink? Should I re-ink if I haven't used them in quite a while?   By: patricia.book11 (21-May-26) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Hello, thank you for reaching out. Distress Ink and Distress Oxides are two different formulations. It is ideal to reink the Distress Ink Pad with the Distress Ink and the Distress Oxide Pad with the Oxide reinker. We would recommend reinking when you feel like the ink pad is drying out or you want more color to be released when using the ink pad. If the ink pads seem dry, we would recommend reinking them. • Will the distressed oxide feather with alcohol markers?   By: paulam131 (16-Jan-22) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • You can use Distress Black Soot with Alcohol markers but not Distress Oxide Black Soot as Distress Oxides have Pigments that will react with the Alcohol and smear the image as well as your coloring. • How long does it take for the Distress Oxide Ink to dry/set? I used it on an acrylic stamp to stamp on a piece of primed wood and it haven't dried in 24 hours.   By: vickis0906 (02-Feb-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
