SBC isn't joking when they call this a 'smooth writer'--It really is! I've tried several other brands but have never been happy with the results. Bought this on a whim and I'm really glad I did. The pen literally glides over my cardstock and dries nearly instantly--no smudging or gaps! I'm going back and ordering the 3 pack because this is now my new favorite. I was a bit upset when I opened up the pens and realized they were uni-ball gel pens. The good thing is that it's a familiar feeling and that it can write on vellum. The bad thing is that it is a reskin of an already popular gel pen.

This Smooth Writer Ink Roller Pen in Black by scrapbook.com is definitely on the smooth side!
Feels sleek and glides across the paper with ease. Great for writing sentiments inside of cards, or for general usage wherever needed to write or jot down something.
I like it very much as it's similar to those gel roller pens.

I LOVE these pens I keep getting more. I have had problems w the white ones like this. They seem to dry out fast and even new you must put them w the tip down. These black ones are so rich

Is this pen waterproof/permanent? As in suitable for using a highlighter without the black ink smearing?

Hello, this pen can be used with a highlighter once the ink is completely dry, we would not recommend that it is waterproof as when we tested it with water the ink did slightly run.
