The Evolution Advanced Die Cutting Tool is compatible with most leading dies and embossing folders and it will cut and emboss materials up to 6” wide. Its dial setting adjusts the height of the rollers and sets the pressure eliminating confusing mat combinations and shims.

Well-made and like not having to crank it
“I have the Big Shot machine which I love, but it is large and takes over the whole table when I use it. The Evolution has a much smaller footprint. I like that you can fold it up and store it easily. The motor is great. I like to run everything through twice; forward and back, the motor makes that easy. The knob on the side that you use instead of making the sandwich, huge learning curve there. I found all of the setting guides on their website, but I use different dies from different companies. I haven't committed to memory what brand of die I'm using, so telling me to set the knob for a Thinlet die doesn't help me. I just have to try different settings or run it through twice...trial and error, just like learning sandwiching techniques. But I do like it! I use both my Big Shot and Evolution equally. I love my Evolution. It's such a pleasure to not have to deal with sandwiches and shims. However, I bought it with the electric attachment due to extreme weakness from a medical problem and I find I can't turn the dial to change the settings. My husband rigged up a vice grip to the dial so I could turn it. I have never been able to open the storage compartments. Hope there is nothing important in there. Otherwise it's a gem.

I love this little machine but the only problem I have is that the B Mat that came with it is now warped and I am unable to get perfect die cuts as I did when it was new. I only purchased it last November and I use it a lot for both cutting and embossing but I'm not happy with the warp on the Genius Mat B.
Can it be replaced or a separate Mat B purchased separately? Thank you.

Pros:
1. I know that my Evolution Advanced can cut any thin die cut. I can buy thin die cuts to my hearts content. This is a huge pro in my book.
2. It's lightweight, compact, and easy to turn the handle. I know I can purchase the motor separately should I ever need it.
3. The handle and directions can be stored in the machine.
Cons:
1. I traded confusing sandwiches for confusing dial settings. The dial settings found on the WRMK website are neither intuitive nor accurate (it probably depends on the paper), so experimenting and paper-wasting are necessary.
2. I cannot use my large Sizzix steel roll dies in this, even though there is a corresponding dial setting for these dies. I tried, but the machine sounded like it was breaking. It took me 3 attempts to get a die through, and I will not be doing it again.
3. To use the smaller Sizzix steel roll dies, I had to purchase an "A" mat, which is sold with a "B" mat. So.....I now own the base, a magnetic base (it's easier to use), two B mats, 1 A mat, and a flexible mat that I am still not certain what to do with. So, I'm not sure why WRMK promotes this product with the, "No more confusing sandwiches" tag line. I have a lot of makings for sandwiches, and I'm confused.
Suggestions:
Scrapbook.com offers a free Evolution Advanced class. This is a must, in my book. Directions that come with the EA are very simplistic. Dial settings are not included with the directions, but are downloadable with the class (directions are on the WRMK website, too, but hard to find).
I gave this product a 3-star rating because the pros are good pros.

Emboss, die cut AND letterpress in ONE machine with one sandwich. All you have to change is the setting on a dial! No more layers of different pads to cut depending on thickness of dies either--just adjust the dial!

Not thrilled with the lack of directions for this and have yet to get it to work properly. Disappointed. Hope that I will find a tutorial that will actually show me how to use the dial properly for cutting.

I love my new machine I had right shoulder surgery it as been difficult cranking my other machine. Two of my stamping friends have ordered on my recommendations. Again I loveit. It is easy to use!!!!!

I know everyone is wondering how to use the dial since there is not enough information on how to use it with certain dies/embossing folders. I did some research & found the Evolution Advance Dial Settings (pdf) on this website: http://www.weronthenet.com/Evolution_Advanced. I printed out the Evolution Advance Dial Settings pdf as a 4x6, trimmed it, and laminated it as a reference guide and stuck it in 1 of the compartments. I hope the link above helps!

I just got it and have only used it a little, but l love it. So far, everything is working great. The Evolution holds to the surface very well. The crank is easy to turn and I like that I don't have to remember what tabs, shims to use. Adjust the knob, and your on your way. GREAT MACHINE!!!!

I do not have a question to ask but some info to share. If you did not get directions with your (fabulous) Evolution Advanced, you can download them at www.weronthenet.com/Evolution_Advanced. So many people are saying they didn't get them......
I just wanted to say thank you for the above information. All I can say this is the best machine by far. No matter who I talk to I tell them about this machine and already 2 people have gone out and bought it.
Will the Evolution machine accept embossing folders or dies from other manufacturers.

Will the evolution cut the same materials that the sizzix big shot will cut? They both seem to have the same strength. I did look at the comparison chart

Yes. The Evolution and the Big Shot will cut the same material. Very similar strength.

Maybe I'm missing the big picture here but...I don't understand the need for a motor. Can you explain why one would need this?

The motor would be used for those of us who can no longer use the crank due to strength in our hands. Arthritis and other illnesses could prevent you from using these machines manually. So this is an excellent option for me and why I want it.

I have a very small craft room and my new evolution is in a small area so rather then moving it everytime I want to emboss or cut something I can just press the button and run it thru rather then trying to turn the handle

I have a question about your new Evolution machine. Does it work with Tim Holtz dies and/or Sizzix dies? It's my understanding they don't work with my Cuttlebug but I would so love to find a machine that works with ALL.
I don't know about this machine, but in answer to the previous question I have a Cuttlebug and I use Tim HOltz dies and Sizzix dies and I use them in it all the time as long as they aren't extra wide for any reason, they fit just fine! You may try it with your cuttlebug. Although having said that, this new machine does look like it has the best of all the machines. It looks very well thought out and I really like it. I love the self healing mat...why did no one think of that before? And the magnetic mat is just like stephanie barnards magnetic platform. and I like the design of this machine.

You can use any die in the Evolution so long as it is not wider than the platform.

I was so excited to be gifted an "unused" Evolution Advanced, until I saw that it doesn't have a turning handle! I've tried to search for replacement parts, but I am not finding any. Any suggestions? Do I hit the hardware store and try to find a turning handle that will work? I'm a teacher, and this will be so great for my classroom! (That's my story, and I'm sticking to it...if I happen to do some scrapbook work on the side, I just won't mention it. :) )

the handle is hidden in the tray, If not I would contact the manufacturer. It is well worth it. It is the only machine I use now.
