This mat is amazing. Actually, it’s better than amazing but I can’t find another adjective at the moment. My thinnest dies (Lawn Fawn box cards) do not come out with any signs of warping. And it’s so smooth going through my Vagabond. And it’s fantastic with one of my finely detailed die that I’ve tested.

Purchased last week. Spent 1 whole day "playing"! Used standard size Magic Mat with my Gemini Jr. Excellent results! I appreciated your video on the various "sandwiches" for die cutting machines. Very useful. A good rugged mat. I did as you suggested, regular bottom cutting plate, magic mat, material w/die cutting side down, 2nd cutting plate, & 1 piece of 100# CS. Trying to flip mats regularly. So far, all is good.

This is an amazing product. It will end the problem of the lower cutting matting ruining your paper with old cuts I've used mine everyday since I bought it. It's fantastic. It doesn't warp, doesn't show cuts and doesn't need shimming as often as using the plastic cutting pad. I highly recommend this product.

My prefer die-cutting machine is a Spellbinder's Platinum 6. It's about 4 years old and I use it daily. After a few tests with word dies and intricate Spellbinder's dies I fell in love. I do have a cardstock shim under the Magic Mat. It's just like anything else, it takes trial and error to get the kinks worked out. But man do I love not having any fuzzy pieces on my die cuts anymore. That's amazing! And the mat doesn't warp or buckle.

I’ve had my mats (bought 2 different sizes) for about a week. I LOVE THEM. I have a Big Shot and it fits perfectly for all the sizes if wafer thin dies I’ve used. Cuts like butter, and is so smooth and quiet. 💗
To prevent overuse of sections, I marked the edges so I remember to flip and turn it each use.

The only negative about this product is that it is entirely too long for the Big Shot Switch machine and I had to cut it down, but that's alright because now I have two mats!
This thing really is what it's name implies.. it's magic! It delivers crisp clean cuts and when it gets all misshapen from repeated runs through whatever machine you're using just run your heat tool over it for a few minutes and voila, good as new!

Works great. I have Bira 9 inch opening die cutter/embossing machine. The majic mat is about 1.5 inches longer then my thick platform so I overhang it on the insert end and make the back end all line up. Platform, a magnetic cutting mat, paper, die and magic mat on top. Sometimes I use the 2 magic mats one on the thick platform, die, paper, and another magic mat. My original bira cutting mat is worn out so the magic mat replaces it. Really like magic mats.

I bought these when they first launched, I bought them in every size, two of each... so glad I did...
They are amazing... until they warp... and they will... if you die cut like me... which is every day.
So to be fair, they will warp, and they will still work after they are warped but with smaller dies, just place die before or after the bump that forms in the middle of mat and it will work.
But I use the newest mats for the bigger dies and the detailed dies, and the old warped ones for the smaller dies and I just work around the warped bump in the middle of the mat.... sounds weird,... i know, but I have been waiting forever for them to be restocked and I am working with what I have...
So I do recommend them, but be realistic... all cutting plates and cutting mats will warp... it is the nature of the beast, especially if you die cut like I do...
Just buy two, so you can always have new one on hand.

This is a great idea but it needs work. I’m using this with my Sizzix Big Kick and the platform.... doesn’t cut entirely. I’ve tried it with a cardstock shim, without the shim, die facing up and facing down.

I know that this is self-healing, but if you are doing a lot of die-cutting back to back will it leave marks on the paper? That's my main problem with plastic plates is that the cut lines leave indentations in my project.

I've never had any paper residue come off onto my next cutting. I made a lot of Christmas cards and if you might, turn it over. I have a long one for my Big Kick so I've just turned it around and after it warping in the Gemini, I also turned it over. I've cleaned mine by spritzing a little water and brushing with a toothbrush, then dry off with a cloth.

Has anyone tried to use the magic mat with an Anna Griffin Empress die cutting machine. I've checked all the measurments and it seems like it would fit. Just wondering if anyone has actually used it in an Empress.

I bought a Gemini this summer. The top plate warped so badly the first time I used it. I kept using but it ended up to where it wouldn't even go through the machine. I straightened it a little by laying it in a cookie sheet and adding boiling water then sitting two cast iron pots on top. Still ruined so bought a new one. They come one to a pack, expensive to continue replacing.
I heard that using a self healing cutting mat can DEcrease the sharpness of your dies? Has your mat been tested for a long time to see if this happens to the dies? Thank you.

People have been using self healing mats in their due cutting machines for many years. It does not effect the longevity of the dies. Go on YouTube and look for a video regarding this topic and it will help you to learn more about using the self healing mat & dies.

How do you clean the Magic Mat? I know it's self healing but there seems to be paper left in the cuts.

I'm not sure if this will work or not, but I clean the areas on the Olfa cutting mat that I use for fabric with an eraser. It removes all of the fabric fibers that have gotten stuck in the mat. I have had the mat that I use with a rotary cutter for over 20 years and it is still in wonderful shape. An eraser might work with Magic Mat. It's certainly worth a try.

When the description says this mat be used with the Vagabond 2 there is an asterisk, I have not been able to find information it�s meant to reference. Can the Magic Mat be used in the Vagabond 2?

Yes, it can be used with the Vegabond 2. There is a graphic for the sandwich in the product images on the main page. It is called, "Sandwich for Sizzix Vegabond and Vegabond 2". All you will be doing is replacing one of your cutting plates with the Magic mat.
