I love these layered stencils from SBC. These umbrellas make the cutest backgrounds. Perfect for get well cards, of course. Also for splashing in puddles, sunny days are coming, you can't have rainbows without rain... Loads of possibilities.
I have found that I really like layers stencils and while this one is good, I feel it could be even better if it was 3 or even 4 pieces. I would love it if there was one layer for the umbrella canopies, one for the handles and one for the embellishments for the canopies (making it 3 pieces). For the base handle to be a darker color, that detail could be the 4th layer, but I'd be fine without that detail. As it is, with the 2 pieces I end up doing quite a bit of masking to get the effect I want of the canopies being colored, the long handle being brown, the little handle being darker yet, and then a Simon Hurley solar paste or the Crafter's Companion glitter paste for the umbrella embellishments.
