Clean the machine and its accessories with a slightly damp cloth only. Do not use a cleaning product or chemical cleaners on the machine. Canned air may be used to remove dust and debris from small areas of the machine. If your handle requires lubrication, place a small drop of household dish detergent between the white and bronze parts of the handle and rotate the handle to distribute. Alternately, you can remove and immerse the handle into clean water with dish detergent. To prolong the life of the plates, use both sides and remove any scrap materials after cutting.

The Spellbinders Platinum 6 comes with a limited one year warranty. The machine is warranted to be free of defects in workmanship and materials. Q: Which machines are NOT compatible with the Glimmer Hot Foil System?
A: The Glimmer Hot Foil System is NOT compatible with the Cuttlebug, Side Kick or any other machine that cannot cut Steel Rule Dies and does not have at least a 6" long platform.
Q: Can the Glimmer Hot Foil System use the Go, Press and Foil Machine Dies?
A: Yes!
Q: Can you use any brand of heat transfer foil with the Glimmer Hot Foil System?
A: Unfortunately, no. Other popular foils like Therm o Web and Heidi Swapp will not work in this system. This machine does not use a toner to adhere the foil.
Q: Can you use any die with the Glimmer Hot Foil System?
A: Technically, you can use most metal wafer thin dies, however they may not create beautiful designs. Some do not make sense with this system as they were created to cut out shapes. If you do decide to try a new wafer-thin die, keep this in mind and add an extra cardstock shim or two, as water thin dies are slightly thinner than the Glimmer plates.

I was so excited to buy the Platinum 6. However after 10 uses making maybe 10 cards my plates started to wrap and it is getting worse. I wonder is there a fix? My cuddle bug which was still working after 10 years had minor plate warp but certainly NOTHING like this. I can not recommend this machine as it stands now.
I welcome suggestions on how to prevent or minimize warping.
I had been looking at the glimmer machine for some time. I already owned a die cutting machine and was unsure whether the glimmer machine would work with it. When this combo went on sale, I jumped on it. Love both machines and yes, the glimmer machine would have worked with my big shot but the platinum actually takes up less space and is lighter, so it will be my go to when crafting outside my craft room.
This was the best value I found on the Platinum 6 and Glimmer machine bundle. Great value and fast shipping.
Totally in love with the Spellbinders platinum die cutting machine and Glimmer Hot Foil Accessory Kit. I have owned other manual die cutting machines and the Spellbinders Platinum is my favorite by far. It's easy to use and closes up to a compact size for storing or transporting. These two systems work flawlessly together and "upped" my card making skills to the next level. Thanks Spellbinders!
I looked at several die cutting machines and I’m glad I chose the platinum. It’s easy to use and gives great results.
I researched between getting this entire kit or buying a different foil machine to use with my Cuttlebug. In the end, I chose this kit so I could upgrade my die cutting machine and be compatible with the hot foil machine. I have not used them yet but I am intrigued and enthusiastic about creating unique greeting cards.

Yes. This machine includes a 6’ power cord that is the United States (and Canada) voltage.

I don't have this machine. I have several manual machines but I use an ebosser electronic machine which I have had for about 7 years. I have used it a lot but only just changed the A cutting plate for the first time. The plates have to be flipped over regularly to minimise warping, which is true of most if not all die cutting machines. The gemini machine needs to have the plates flipped and rotated after every use. There are videos by Sara Davies demonstrating the proper use. Flipping the plates over frequently should help minimise the warping.
