This 12 piece Thinlits Die set, Retro Halloween, is designed by Tim Holtz for Sizzix and is part of the Halloween Collection. This die set features a witch, a pumpkin, an owl head, a cat head, a skull, and a ghost along with their shadows. These Thinlits dies are wafer-thin, chemically-etched dies that are designed to cut, emboss, or stencil a single sheet of cardstock, paper, metallic foil, or vellum. These dies are compatible with leading die cutting machines (sold separately). These dies can be used for cards, scrapbook pages, tags, journals, planners, invitations, and other paper crafting, mixed media, and home decor projects.
I loved the retro look of these Halloween icons the first time I saw them, but the price kept me from making the purchase. I know also that Tim Holtz products rarely go on any significant sale and are wildly popular, so eventually I bit the bullet and spent the money. When the dies arrived, and I finally opened the package, I realized that what I thought was just hype over the Tim Holtz brand was in fact 100% authentic. Now I understand why so many people are in love with his die sets! These come packaged in a heavy duty storage envelope that will last and protect the dies. They aren’t taped or glued onto a card that requires you to risk bending the delicate dies in order to ever get them off! The dies work perfectly in my Spellbinders Platinum 6, and look amazing when completed. They’re just the right size to make an impact on pages without overtaking them too. I’m so happy with the high quality of this set and would recommend buying to anyone considering it. This one is worth splurging on for a personal treat, any day!

This die set is driving me crazy! If I cut out the images on colored cardstock as shown, how do I get the black impressions? I understand that there was not a coordinating stamp set�I am totally baffled. HELP!
