Stamping Markers

So...in some of my crafty magazines they have been using markers to ink up stamps...you know to have flowers that are different colors etc. The problem is I can't figure out what type of markers they are using. I don't want to get ones that will mess up my stamps (I use both rubber stamps and clear stamps.) Does anyone use this technique and if so, what type of markers do you use?

I have Copics I use for coloring in stamps but I don't know if they would work for this technique.

I use Le Plume II markers. I got 3 sets of 12 at HL so I have a lot of colors. You color your stamp how you want it, then breathe on it to moisten the color, then stamp.

As long as they are water-based, you should be good to go.

Copics won't work they are alcohol and dry to fast. On top of that they will really stain your stamps. need water based, like staming up, leplume or others in that line.

OK...so wate-based markers are the best?? Anyone have a favorite brand? And why?

cara love stampin up since they are made for just that but very pricy I'm sure others will have a better solution. Also love to do Tim Holtz technique.

I use Le Plume by Marvy Uchida! They are super easy to use! and come in a variety of fabulous colours!!!!

I've used those and Tombo brush markers with good success.

Inkadinkado watercolor markers are what I want to get for stamping. It's a fun name to say!! lol... Ink-a-dink-a-do

I like the Marvy Uchida Brush Art Markers.

I use Marvy, Crayola, RoseArt, just about anything I can get my hands on. You can use copic markers directly on your stamps. You will need to mist the stamp with the blending solution, but basically it is the same as using a water based ink and misting with water. Sherrie Siemens (Copic DT & instructor) shows how to do it on her blog. The copic ink will stain your stamp, but that doesn't effect how the stamp works afterward.
