Using a iron on in a scrapbook page

Hi,
Has anyone use a iron -on in a scrapbook? One of my friends got me an iron on to put on t-shirt. Rather than putting on a t-shirt that I would wear for a less than a month. I was thinking of putting the iron on on my pregnancy journal/scrapbook.

I haven't tried that. You could probably scrap it if you didn't iron it to the page. Not sure about the acid free or archival safety of it, though. Good question!

Random idea. What about using it on a shirt and then cutting up the iron on with the fabric and using that in the scrapbook? You can then scrap it along with photos of you in the shirt?

I have some alphabet letters that I realized were actually iron-ons. Maybe just ironing it on paper and then cutting it up will work, but I have never done it.

I'll be watching the post to see what others say.

I have some iron on's I plan on using in a scrap page too! I plan on just using some tacky glue!

You could iron it onto canvas and then use that on your page. There are lots of shapes you can get or use the sticky sheets and make it whatever you want

I did that here on this page. I loved this patch so I just used a few glue dots to put it on.

I have plans to do another one too.

I tried using an iron-on rhinestone thing once. It was miserable!

My iron popped in to steam mode (I did not intend this), so my paper got damp and warped and discolored. Not all the rhinestones adhered; some fell off.

Thankfully, I tried the iron-on FIRST, so all I wasted was one sheet of paper.

I don't know if it would have been better without the steam. I have not tried it again.

I think it would also depend on what kind of iron-on you are using. Is it the vinyl type (like alphabets), or embroidery (like Penny used), or other?? Certain things could just be adhered without using an iron.

The kind I used was similar to the one below. There really was no way to adhere it without using an iron or heat.

from what I understand, you can use the Irock to adhere these kind of rhinestone iron ons onto the page.........haven't tried it yet....I'm on a spending freeze so I can't buy any for scrapbooking to try.

I think I'll just stick to the scrapbooking rhinestone designs that come with adhesive.

it only takes seconds to heat them up and you don't have to worry about burning the paper around it with your iron though.

I actually done a similar project before and it was beautifully done. The iron on rhinestones gave it a new look and style on my scrapbook.

I wouldn't think it would adhere to paper very well, interesting question. When I first saw the topic, I had an image of of someone standing at an ironing board ironing the PP or CS!
