Need advice about 'flip book' ...

I don't actually know if what I am doing is called a 'flip book' but here is my issue: I have 14 photos mounted on cardstock plus a cardstock coverpage that I want to connect landscape style by punching two holes at the top, about two inches apart, and connect with ribbon or something. I am concerned that if I put eyelets on all the holes the book will be way too thick but if I don't then the thread or ribbon will eventually tear the paper.

Any suggestions would be appreciated since I feel clueless

I wouldn't use eyelets. You're right about the bulk.

I don't know if I'd worry about it too much; but if you're concerned, maybe just reinforce the holes with an extra layer of paper?

I have done several little books like this. I have tried using the clear hole reinforcers. They worked great. I did a flipbook for my brother's car. I knew he would be showing it off a lot, so I actually put a strip of duct tape. And then punched the holes. It really turned out cute!!

oh, that is a wonderful idea... duct tape on a car book! I will have to keep that in mind when I make one about my husband's racecars!

AuntLynnie's suggestion is a good one. If you use flat ribbon it distributes the wear and tear and is not likely to cut through paper, however if you used yarn for instance it might. So I would hazzard a guess and say you are quite safe! Good Luck.
