Copic Markers?

Why do you like them? Are they worth it? What can you do with them? What are your honest thoughts on them?

But I have a bunch of other markers for scrapbooking and was jsut wondering about the Copic Markers?

I LOVEEEE mine. that is all I use to color images with now. I have close to 100 of them.. Started with about 3.

There is no other marker I have found that blends for shading like these do. I almost always use the brush end of mine. I own the Sketch ones. I love the colors they offer. I love how smooth they go on ( non streaky) when you color in little circles. I love the way they feel in my hand. I think they are so worth it. I have a site where I buy them for less than 5.00 though. Not sure where you get yours or how much you spend. I know they get pricey in some places. I TOTALLY recommend them though.

oh I forgot to answer another question you had.

YOu can use them for stamping. You can color white pearls, white flowers, buttons, rhinestones and any other embellie you can think of really, to match the colors in your image. You can air brush with them, doodle with em... ink edges with them... possibilities are endless really.

I use mine for stamping as you can blend the colours right there on the stamp for a fantastic effect!

Tracy...could you PM me with the site that you get them from??? I've been interested in trying them out but I know that they're pretty pricey.

I saw a ton of these today at a convention thing I went to. I didn't buy any and I didn't really wait around to see them demo'ed. Are they the refillable ones?

Yes they are refillable. The Sketch ones are anyway.. I do not think the Ciao ones are.

Copic markers are fabulous!! I have 4 of them right now, but I want so many more!! They are perfect for coloring and blending images and work better than any other marker I have ever used!!

Since they are a bit pricey, I am looking for a great place to purchase these - best price with good shipping to Canada?

I have watched some videos on youtube and am also shopping around for good deals on a few of these to play around with. Any suggestions on which ones are best to start off with?

icopic has them for pretty good prices. They were on sale last time I checked for $3.25 each. Not bad!

thanks for the heads up! I am gonna give it a look and try to find a few of the oval ones to give a test run with.

Of course, these are going to be hard to sneak past DH since I just got the whole SU & CTMH marker sets too lol

I prefer the Sketch ones but each person is different. I do not like how the round ones feel in my hand while coloring.

I agree, I love the sketch ones too!

I "LOVE" my Sketch markers!!!
They blend so nicely and they are refillable. The tips can also be changed. I think this helps with the cost, in my mind anyhow. The Sketch is oval and the Ciao is round; the Sketch has the color # on the cap, the Ciao doesn't.
The Ciao is refillable as well, just doesn't hold as much ink.
I have about 140 now and I really don't think you need the full set. It's just nice to have the lighter and darker in the same color family to blend.

Wow! I didn't realize how much there were to these markers. I'm going to have to check them out. Currently don't have any

They are very pricey, but they have more of a specific use. If you are a stamper they are FABULOUS for coloring in images. Oh how I could get lost just coloring images all day...something soothing about it.
As as scrapbooker, they may not be as useful though. I would not buy them just to doodle or write on sb pages that is for sure. If you like to stamp and color in images though they really bring stamps to life. I have quite a few stamps I had planned to get rid of because they were too detailed and just did not look right without being colored in or with water colors. My copics make them gorgeous though.

They also take some practice to use and if you are going to get them I highly suggest a class or reading up on blogs with tips about using them. The first few I liked, but after taking a class that really showed me what all I could do with them and how to fill intricate areas and use the colorless blender correctly.... OMG.... I love them so much more.
