What do you do more?.......

I was just looking through some old albums and was curious which you do more of 1 pg layouts or 2? I find almost all of mine are two. I've just started doing a few more 1 page ones, but I almost always have too many pictures to fit even just the best on one page. Sometimes I'll even have 4-6 pages for an event. If that's the case, I just section it off. One example is our last camping trip. We went for a week, so when I got the pictures back, I did a 2pg beach, 1pg kids fishing, 2pg cleaning fish, 1 pg boat ride and I still have to do a 2pg of just hanging around the campsites.

Another part of this question is what size do you do? 12x12 or 8x11. I can only do a 1pg layout in the 8x11 size if I have one or maybe two photos. 12x12 it's easier to get more photos on one page, so you might not need to do 2 pages.

I do 2 page lo also. I usually have a lot of pics from one event that I need 2 pages (at least, if not more!) I think it's easier to do a 2 page spread than do 2 one page spreads that don't clash, but you can tell they're seperate events. I use 12x12 albums, but I'm going to use an 8 1/2x 11 for my dd baby book. I hate lots of white space, so hopefully this will work out for me.

I like doing 2pg on a 12x12. I also used a 12x12 for both of my boys it gave me lots of room to record thoughts.

I do 2pg layouts also. When I was a new scrapper I used 8x11 but now I use 12x12.

The only time I do a one page layout is when I start a new album. I save general family pictures for the ready cut frames from Keeping Memories Alive. Then its 2,4,6,8 page spreads for me. The bigger the better. I love the challenge of movable pages, pages with peek-a-boos, and changing pictures.

I scrap 8.5x11, although I'm to start a baby book for my niece in 12x12.

When I started scrapping I just got the pictures on the page! Most of these are 1 page on decorative paper. Now I have 2 to 4 page spreads on cardstock.

I'm scrapping my life. There aren't a lot of pics of little Megan, so there aren't a lot of pages. I find myself taking lots of pics so I have bigger spreads. Although I've recently done quite a few one pagers due to not liking the pictures at my disposal or just not seeing the need to have more than a page. Like my mom's new car, why have more than one page?

I have been sb off and on since 1992. My DH is retired. I have Multiple Sclerosis. I now have the time to sb so I usually do someting every day. One down side of MS is that I become tired as the day goes on and when I go to a night crop I am not able to do much. I'm learning to take a nap so that I will have some energy when I go. My favorite album is a top loading 12x12 and I almost always do 2 pg layouts. I am trying to write more on my sb pgs for the future generations to read & understand us better. Do you stamp in your sb? I have added stamps and chalks to my pgs and use less stickers!

I try to always do a two-page layout. It just looks so finished that way. But sometimes a one-pager in unavoidable. When I do have to do a one-page layout, I try to at least pair it up with another layout with coordinating colors.

I find that I do 2 pages for most of my pictures because I am taking more now htat I scrap. When I do my album from when the kids were young I do a lot of one pages because there are only a couple of photos per event. I use 12x 12 albums but have done a few 8 x 11, usually those I am giving away like teacher's albums. I really feel confined with the smaller size.

I definately do mostly 2 page layouts. I wish sb magazines would show 2 page layouts for two unrelated events and offer tips on ways to best tie the two together (different techniques, etc.) Scrapbookers would appreciate seeing more of this, in my opinion!

I do mostly two page layouts too. It's just easier to be creative. I do special pages like kaleiascope(sp?) and quilting pages usually on one page, but like others have said I try to coordinate with the facing page. I will do two quilting type pages on different subjects, for example.

I usally do a two pg lo also. I enjoy the flow of a book when it is set up this way. For our big events like mini vacations or birthday parties, I really enjoy using the panoramic 4-6 pg lo. Unfortuanately, now that I have been bitten by this bug, I have more pictures than needed for my pages. My developer company sure enjoys my business.

I guess I'm the odd man out on this one - I seem to do mostly one page layouts. I do 2 page layouts if I have more than 4 pictures from one event.

It sounds like you are the Queen of One Page Layouts! You are definately the one to ask: what are your tips/favorite techniques for best tying two unrelated events together so that your layouts don't look "broken up"?

You know when I do one page layouts, I very rarely try to match the colors or look. (I actually never thought about matching until I read these posts.) It makes it look too much like the same event when it's not. The way I see it each event, 1 or 2 pages, lends itself to it's own look and to try and match looks kind of takes away from the individual feeling of that event. It's kind of like when you go through your photo albums. I don't put all the birthdays together so the album flows together, I put the photos in the book in the order I get them developed. Ok so it's not the best comparison, but it's all I could think up

Heather, that's too funny...I never thought of looking at it YOUR way! I like your philosophy, it would be way too difficult to try to make two different events match. Maybe now I won't be so afraid to try one page layouts...except for the fact that I usually can't narrow my pictures down to an amount that would fit onto one page!! That's another post in itself!

hmmmm.....I usually do 2 page LO's when I can, but there is that rare occasion when I can only do one. When I do, do a 1 page, I try to make the opposite page different, so it can't be confused as being the same event.

I'm a 2 pager- 12 x 12. I do all my journaling on the computer and I don't like to clutter to much. I opt for one page at the start or end of an album... come to think of it- unless there is a recurring theme. I do "GIRLS WEEK" with pictures of my annual trip with my mom and gram. They are usually 1 page layouts, but next to each other since they sort of relate.
