GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME???

I went to California on vacation last week. Anyways, the last card I went to download came up and said card error. I tried everything and it keeps saying card error, picture error or write protect. I went to Walmart today and tried printing from their machine and it said no photos. So I lost 200 pics.
I just cried when it happened. Has this ever happened to anyone???

My sister had a similar thing happen. She had 4 rolls of film from our trip to London get lost, and a roll of her son's birth get messed up by developers. It was before the digital thing, but she was totally bummed.

Suggestion!! If your card has an error, but you know there are photos that you took... call the card manufacturer, tell them your situation. My father in law had this happen!! They gave him an address to send it to and they got all of the photos off and sent him a new card. He had over 200 photos of a trip to Europe! Good luck! it should work.

FYI: Even computers can't ever be completely erased. The data is always on there and high tech methods can be used to get to the data if someone wants it bad enough. (Today's tip from Patti the techie )

Yes, this happened to one of the cards that had my brothers graduation from USMC boot camp. I cried too.

Try the manufactuer or Best Buy. My friend had that happen to her memory stick and she took it to Best Buy, they weren't able to get it, but save time of sending it in.

Oh no that is so sad. I lost a roll of film from epcot center. i didn't realize the whole day my camera wasn't taking pictures! I cried!

I sent my photos from my college graduation to a mail-away developer. They lost it. I cried and cried... then my mother was diagnosed with cancer and died the following May. My graduation was the last "big event" she had come to, and I cried again for not having the photos.

I had something like that happen to me. I did some research online and posted a note somewhere (can't remember where) asking for advice and someone referred me to this recovery software. It recovered almost all the pics on my card. I was so sick thinking these pics were all gone so I know how you feel.

I had that happen to one of my cards before. It wasn't of any special event , just everyday pics...but I was very upset too...Hope it all works out for you!

I once left my camera on a bus after a huge trip with all my friends. 3 rolls of film gone and since I don't typically buy a lot souvenirs when I travel because I consider my photos the best keepsake of all, I have very little to show for this wonderful trip. I can totally relate and I am so sorry for you! Good luck in possibly retrieving them.

We lost alot of our pics. (old and new) in a flood. It really sucks because pics. just can't be replaced.

I am so sorry that this happened. I sure hope you are able to get them back.

If it helps any I lost all my youngest's baby pictures. That wasn't due to a memory stick tho, just stupidity!!

The same thing happened to me. My card crashed a few hours after my son's first bday party. I lost about 100 pics. Fortunately I had video taped it as well so i didn't lose all the memories. Then at Christmas the same thing happened and I lost all those pics as well. i took my card to a camera shop. They did a disk restore and reovered a bunch of pics... from 6 months ago. None of the ones from the bday or christmas could be fixed. I cried for days. I hope you can get yours back, but my suggestion-which I have adopted for myself- is to use a film camera for the really important events. Film tends to not get ruined as much.

I'm so sorry ....that is terrible. Let us know if any of the suggestions here worked for you. Also, I really like the idea of using a film camera as back up for really special events.
