Donating excess scrapbook supplies

It's that time of year again. As I add all my new supplies I received for Christmas, I organize and clean out what I already had. I have already come across tons of stuff that I have duplicates of, am tired of, etc. Does anyone know of any worthy causes that accept scrapbook supply donations?

Alot of children type hospitals will take them, so kids can do crafts and such. Maybe your local recreation center, local library. If you hae younger kids, their schools may like them as well. Just a few suggestions.

I think I remember Jill Davis going to hospitals to help women with severe illnesses scrap (at least I think it was Jill). I wonder if she would like them.

There was a thread on here not too long ago from a woman who runs a horse ranch for troubled/at risk girls that was looking for donations, but I can't for the life of me find it. I'll keep looking.....

Donations needed

I'd recommend Dana's ranch or any hospital. My friend and I donated to the ranch at Christmas time. Dana sent me a sweet PM telling me how much the girls loved the stuff and how they wanted to use it right away. She said they were really excited and happy to get the goodies, which made me happy. Then again, kids' causes are always close to my heart.

Another idea - what about a senior center or nursing home? Many of them have craft days and might appreciate stuff they could use for those activities.

You could also donate it to local Girl Scout troops.

I give my stuff to my dd's teacher. She loves it. Everyone is envious of her arts and crafts table, and I love seeing how the kids use the paper and stickers in their art work.

My SIL (petergabrielfan) regularly donates extra stuff to a children's hospital in her area.

I know from on here that womans homes (like abuse shelters and such) also take it....

Local schools are good to they always need ctraft supplies for the kids

If you haven't figured out what to do with it, I can use it-not for me!! I teach in a Dallas (very low income/high risk/etc.) school. I have my classes scrapbook and usually end up buying a lot of the supplies. I also sb with my girl scouts, but most of the parents help with that. My parents at school do the best they can just to feed and clothe their kids. If you haven't already found a home for your extra supplies, pm me. I'll pay for the shipping.

I know someone who has a charity for scrapbook events. ALL proceeds (not profit, but the actual revenue) goes to charity. Anyway......they are collecting supplies for the people in California who lost their stuff in the recent fires. If you are interested in donating anything to this group just pm me and I will give you the details.

alot of us in SoCal donate to a local children's hospital for their child services division. they teach the kids to scrapbook - in fact we got one of the local mfrs to donate their over-inventory! it's great!

scrapbook royalty (just google it, since we can't link) has events and collects supplies for various causes. They are the ones collecting supplies for those who lost theirs in the CA wildfires. They also do a lot of events for kids.

I have a fairly big stash and I feel I should whittle it down, but much of it is perfectly good stuff. I don't live in Phx, but I visit often enough that would be easily doable for me.

I know that someone is trying to get up supplies for the fire victims in Cal. Also juvenile detention or at the mental hospitals who have art therapy for adults and children (no one thinks of these groups when donating).
