Fiskars Shape Cutter

I have been looking at one of these and can't decide if I would ever use it. If you have one do you like it or use it very much? How big of a circle does it cut. Im looking for something that will cut a large circle (6" or larger) Any suggestions? Thanks everyone!

I have one. I have a ton of templates but those have the smaller circles on it. Not 6". I did however purchase the purple circles and purple rectangle templates. I think the largest one is 6".

I use mine all the time. I have several of the smaller templates and the larger circle templates. The only trick to using this is to be sure the templates are facing in the right direction. If you try using the template upside down, it won't cut correctly.

I too have the Shape Cutter. I really like it! That is what I used more when I started scrapping. Now I have my Cricut and CM cutting system and I typically seem to use those more now. However, every once in awhile I will use the Shape Cutter because I like some of the templates! I have used the letters on many layouts.

I think you'll get very mixed reviews on this product. I for one love mine. Even though I have the cricut I still use mine all the time for cutting basic shapes. Ditto on the last comment, make sure you use it correct side up.

I bought one of these along time ago and just started using it. I really like it now and use it all the time.

I use mine a lot. I like it because what you see is what you get. Lay the template over the paper or photograph, and cut. I get the exact portion of the picture or pp that I want.

I use the fiskar cutter a lot, but for bigger circles I use the Ek Success - Cutter Bee - Curvy Cutter Circle Template Kit, but with this you need a glass matt..... I think I got both of mine at hobby lobby using the 40% off coupon. It works really well and is easy to use. but I do use my Fiskars for smaller circles and other shapes too and like it as well. I think it's best for cutting without the templates. It is fast and easy to use bby hand when cutting around stuff (letters, shapes, etc.)

An important thing is to set the correct depth of the blade. If it's too deep, the blade drags and it's too hard to pull. Likewise, if it's too shallow, it doesn't cut thru the paper. Many people who hate it--and there are a lot who do-- don't set it correctly....but for some I knew, once they saw how to do it, they said WOW! It is fast and easy.

I'm really surprised at these comments and I'm glad it's working for so many. All I've ever heard are bad comments and mine is one of them. I hated it and I tried and tried to use it, but didn't like it at all. I sold it at the first sidewalk sale my LSS had. I love, love my Curvy Cutter tho!

I hated my Fiskars ...always ripped the paper-drove me nutz! I also purchased the Cutter Bee - Curvy Cutter Circle Template Kit....works SO much better! Definitely worth the investment. You do need the glass mat too...but J's always has those 40% off Coupons

I didn't care for mine much either after I started using the curvy cutter and glass mat. A much smoother cut and they come with templates to get an accurate size. es a little pricey but well worth it.

I didn't ever learn to use it either. But you know you may just love it. Good luck with it!!!

I HATE mine, almost through it away but thought I would feel like I was ripping someone off if I sold it to them so I still have it. I was surprised to hear so many of you like it. I guess I just don't have the right touch. I LOVE my coluzzle though.

I love mine and loaned it to our Prom sponsor this year to help cut shapes for the tickets for prom.

Oh my gosh, you really said it all! THis tool is absolutely AMAZING freehand, IF you set it correctly. I tore up a lot of paper until I read on here how I was doing it wrong. Now, its one of my favortit tools. I even have a plate that I can set the depth on and get the best 10 inch circle you ever saw,lol! I have also used regular stencils , other things laying around , now I can trace anything , as long as I have a line drawn , I can free hand anything, its like a super xacto knife!

I have not had a issue with it at all.I need more templates i think....
