This is just so so adorable!!! Everything on here is just perfect for that wonderful photo. Your son was such a cute little boy!!!!! And, no, most husbands don't get the whole scrapbooking thing. I think mine would do the same thing!! LOL
This is one awesome lo of your son when he was young. Perfect papers and embellies for the adorable photo. Love the design and the folded flower you made.
Too cute! Love your flowers and the burnt paper- soo cute! The paper could not have been more perfect for that photo, which is adorable, by the way! And your stitching looks fabulous!! Love this! Definitely a fave!
Absolutely Awesome, Vija!!!!!!!!!! .... Boy is that paper appropriate for this photo and theme!!!!!!!! .... James is such a handsome lad!!!!!!! .... LOve the flower that you made also, just beautiful and your sewing is great too!!!!!!!!! .... Now you have me curious, I'm going to try to burn the paper, have to watch that I don't burn the house down lol ..... Outstanding work, Vija!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ..... Hugs, Elaine ;)
A good thing you saved these pps...cuz they are just perfection with this adorable photo!! Love the layered pps behind, with canvas too for lovely texture! Am still laughing about you "burning" your pp at the stove!! Funny how I use my iron and sewing for scrapbooking...and not much else! loL! a FAVE!
Oh Vija this is just fantastic! And I got a fun chuckle out of your DH! Mine always comes in and "evaluates" what I'm doing then he always has something to add, change or reposition. He's never happy till he "helps with the design!" lol! Too cute of him! I just so love this picture and your buring, layering and genuine cowboy feel of the page! You did an excellent job as always on this great lo! Have a happy day dear friend! Hugs, Dawna
A very sweet photo and layout. Love the sepia toned photo. Funny about burning the edges of the paper (I did that in college--I'd type poems onto pretty paper and burn the edges!). Have a great week Vija.
I LOVE everything about this LO! Thx so much for the narrative too...it really gives us a peek into your family...it's so fun to have friends here at sb.com!! A definite fav Vija!
Too funny! I know that look your husband gave you, I get it all the time :) This is a great LO! Well worth the wait! And I love the pic of your son. I love how he's showing off the gun... too cute!
haha, no man GETS scrapbooking...I think they just tolerate it :) This is utterly gorgeous and I am sure if you do an album for your son, his new wife will really appreciate it too. What a cute lil cowboy he was. Love the chicken wire and the colours!!
Terrific photo and wonderful page of all your hard work. Such a great use of your new sewing machine , won't be long before DH gets his suit. Lol Adorable embellishments and pps .
Way too cute!!! They really do grow up too fast! I'm working with old photos of my kids too 'cause I'm making an album for my youngest dd's 30th b-day. It's so fun to remember all those great moments our children gave us -- enjoy your journey down memory lane as you scrap those old pics! AND... I love the story of the burning pp!!!!
Love the papers, the layering, and the fact that you actually burnt the edges of the paper..don't see that anymore...the burlap and chicken wire just gives the page a genuine cowboy feel!!! He is one cute little cowboy!!! Can't wait to see more layouts of your childrens childhood!!
I know they will be FANTASTIC!!
This is awesome!!!! Love the burlap, the burnt paper looks amazing (my husband would have done the EXACT same thing...he doesn't GET scrapbooking either!), the stitching, and the great photo!
haha-my hubby's the same,Vija...he looks at me like I'm crazy when he sees some of the things i do!! That photo is just so sweet and I love the burny edges and your accordian flower! Looking forward to more wonderful LOs of your DS!
this is absolutely adorable and I look forward to many more pics of your DS's childhood. the pp is perfect, the stitching fantastic the placement well balanced and the pic as cute as can be. love your accordion flower too - it POPS right off the page. Your description made me chuckle out loud - my DH accuses me of "eating, sleeping and breathing" scrapping - it's nice to know I am in good company.
My little cowboy got engaged a fortnight ago!!! Where do the years go!???!! We had made friends with some American people who were living in Australia for awhile and they held a Halloween party, which we don't really celebrate here, but is was great fun. James was dressed as a cowboy and I have been hoarding this pp in my stash for some time now, knowing that one day I will get around to scrapping some photos of my children when they were young. I am embarrassed to say that this is only the second layout I have ever done of my children when they were young. Now that James has got engaged I am motivated to get an album done for him before he gets married. I made the accordion flower, did some machine stitching and burnt the edges of the pp behind the photo. My husband walked in whilst I was at the stove burning my paper edges thinking I was making him something to eat and gave me one of those looks when he saw what I was doing and walked away. Sometimes I think he just doesn't get scrapbooking! LOL TFL.
