Lysá Hora, elevation 1323 m (4341 ft),is situated in the land register of the villages of Ostravice, Krásná, Staré Hamry, and Malenovice. Lysá hora is sometimes nicknamed as the Queen of Moravskoslezské Beskydy. On its peak there is a meteorological station, a television transmitter, Mountain Rescue Service, SKI Mountain Hut, Šantán Buffet, Lysá hora Mountain Hut, and Kameňák Hostel. The name can be translated as Bald Mountain. This name came from the fact, that Lysá hora had no trees in past. There are 3 routes leading to the summit, each commencing from different staring point. We started at Bily Kriz and hiked to Visalaje trailhead from which the route took us through forest and numerous meadows all the way to the base of the mountain. That’s where the workout started. With no switchback the trail led us straight up until we reached the summit and found gorgeous 360 degrees view of surrounding mountains and villages and some really good food at the buffet. It took us about 10 hours to complete the 13 miles RT. Adventurers: Gabi, Chad, Dave, Sameer, Melanie, Sam, Dan, Phil.
