It is a foolish looking flower, but I think this is a ginger, and not an orchid. This is a really great shot, you can see how waxy the bracts (red parts) are.

This reminds me of one of those bobbing birds with the top hats. I remember them as a kid....you'd put them over a short glass and they would bob in the liquid...if I remember correctly! =}

This is a foolish looking flower. It is actually an orchid! I wish that I would have identified all of the species of orchids that I took pictures of! Oops!! This is a silly looking flower...it looks like it has 2 eyes!!
