SHCG: Mrs Mu has great balance. Luv the paw print paper. The blue metallic photo corners are perfect. (I'll have to look for some for myself.) It's a Great straightforward layout but to me it crys out for just one more embellishment. A little ribbon or a heart or a ball of yarn or a journaling strip...
SHCG: What a cute kitty! Great page, love the colors. You could even add a stripe of ribbon down the page and maybe ink the letters so they stand out more :)
SHCG: This is a lovely start to a wonderful album that will be cherished for years to come. The picture you have chosen to start the page is fantastic. It seems to show the spirit of the beloved pet. I love the colors you have chosen, but would suggest to add some inking to that large green paper. Ink really helps add dimension and tie different patterns together. I do like the letters you have chosen for the title, but I do think the blue and the green are not that great together. I would suggest cutting out a smaller, tan piece of paper like your photo mat and putting it on top of the green and then putting the letters on top of the tan page. One other suggestion, because this is the title page would be to mod podge over the entire page. It will make the album last a lot longer.
SHCG: Such a nice page! I love the photo! everything coordinates so good here! I have 2 suggestions: 1. Pull the photo a little down and to the right. 2. Use a brown pen to either outline the title letters or put 3 dots on each letter, so the title stands out a bit more and you can bring the brown to the left side as well. I can't wait to see the rest of the book!
SHCG - This is a lovely start to a very thoughtful gift. Awesome design here - love the large pic, that pp, the cut letters & the overall color scheme. Before I even read Brenda's comments below, I thought it'd be nice to have a place for you - or your sis & BIL - to journal about this pic or this nickname. So if you choose not to add that here, perhaps later in the book have spaces where people can write thoughts/memories about Bombay, either next to photos or in response to questions (e.g. "Your favorite story about how Bombay got one of her nicknames"). I also 2nd Brenda's comment re: straightening the pic (though I know that taking pics of LOs sometimes makes them look angled when they're not). What a beautiful tribute, you all were so lucky to have one another! TFS.
SHCG: I like the color scheme that appears to be what you'll be using throughout. This is a great first photo. I have three minor suggestions. First, the photo appears to be a little crooked. I can see it moved up a tad to leave some room at the bottom for a little bit of journaling about when this photo was taken and her nickname's origin (as you mentioned in your description), either added by you or a blank journaling block for your sis and bil to fill in. Last, I feel the blue letters need to be a little more enhanced by a shadow or white gel pen outlines around each letter. Nice, simple introductory page to the album, Michelle.
This is the re-visted LO after some some suggestions from my amazing SHCG peeps. This is the first LO I did for my sister and brother-in-law's book about the cat they had to put to sleep at the end of Nov. I gave them a gift certificate, from me, for a scrapbook about Bombay. One of her many nicknames was Mrs. Mu. There is an accent over the u but I can't type that in so bare with me. This is one of her when she was younger and probably within the first couple of years they had her.
