I have been unhappy with "Fly" ever since I created it in early January. I did not like it in my gallery and I did not like it in my album. It lacked balance and it needed to be overhauled.
I've grouped the original version with this one so it's easier to do a side by side comparison.
I tore it apart today and went back to the drawing board with it. I kept the same paper line - the Melody Ross butterfly line - but I added a herringbone pattern and that seemed to be the magic ingredient. After that, everything just -- happened. This is the final result, and I am much happier this time around.
The photo is of Java on her second birthday, running around like a nut. I like this photo. It's a tough catch, catching a horse at the single instant of full extension. I was proud of myself! I'm always proud of HER.
