beautiful page- I LOVE that photo on the left- how awesome with his silhouette & that blue blue sky- I've visited other missions & I can see myself there looking at this page- that solemn calm
I absolutely LOVE the story behind this lo. I am all about the peaceful moments and prayer/meditation. I can almost feel the spirituality in your lo. Love the cross and the rich color of the pp's which contrast beautifully with the photos.
I love the lace, great idea putting ribbon behind it! That cross is beautiful and I love the silhouette photo. I can't wait to see what else you do with that photo. This is just a beautiful serene lo.
At the risk of repeating everyone else, that lace is beautiful! I love how you trimmed it as a banner. The distressed papers are such a fitting choice to compliment the age and serenity of the church. Really lovely.

Looks like a beautifully serene place to stop & pray! I too love the architecture of a lot of catholic churches, though I've never been a catholic. I just am a sucker for great old buildings w/lots of character, lol! Awesome job on sketch #2!! : ]
Love the silhoulette picture, too. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Great colors and the jewels turned out beautifully even if it was a mess to do. Love it!
Beautiful design - love that photo on the left - was a bit confused at first - I live in the SF bay area and thought that it didn't look like SF - then realized you were in New Mexico and the church was named for Saint Francis - made me feel a bit dumb. Anyway . . . I really like what you did with this page - the layering is great and I love the lace banner.
This is from our mini-vacation to Taos the first second week of August. We did a bit of a "scenic tour" one afternoon, driving the circle of enchantment, and also stopping at the San Francisco De Asis church. It's buildings and history like this place that make me think I could be a Catholic! The architecture of this church is just incredible!
It wasn't very hot, and it was VERY quiet, so we took some time to just sit on the benches and spend some time in peaceful prayer and meditation. It was almost as great as my own "church of the back porch and a cup of coffee."
I'm going to scrap the photo on the left again. It is one of my favorites from our vacation, and I want to really showcase it in fluff and stuff and fuss and frame it. But it also needs to live in my vacation album, so I scrapped it up for today's sketch at the 30 Day Sketch Challenge that Jami Bishop is hosting.
I'm also turning it into the following :
1. ABC Challenge - JKL, jewels, keepsake, and lace. The title is clipped from the program brochure that we picked up at the chapel, and the cross is something I picked up as a keepsake in Taos to remember the day we came to this chapel.
2. Scrap by Color - Analogous Color Scheme. The dark paper LOOKS blue on my computer, but it's actually a very dark grey. With the golds, rusts, and greens - it's just a soft, peaceful color scheme to match the soft peaceful feeling of the courtyard of this building.
