10th pages from my Europe Vacation - More photos from beautiful Florence, Italy.

Journaling:
The first stop on the tour was the Santa Maria Novella, a cathedral with a colored marble façade and decorated cloisters – one of Florence’s most beautiful churches.
Piazza della Signoria, a large open square was my favorite part of the city. The Palazzo Vecchio, a previous Medici home was a backdrop for impressive statues; The Fountain of Neptune, a copy of David, and Perseus to name a few. From there we walked to the Palazzo degli Uffizi, through its arches to the river Arno, and saw the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), the only bridge across the Arno left in Florence after World War II.
Inside the Piazza Santa Croce were frescoes by Giotto, as well as the tombs of Michelangelo, Machiavelli and Galileo. Our last stop in Florence was Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, one of the largest churches in the world. Built in the gothic style and well-known for the bell tower designed by Giotto.
