Okay...stay away from the candy store when in Salem. Got it! LOL! Salem is quite the quaint town. It looks like you could spend a lot of time just going into the shops. Sure like the lighthouse. the black background was a good choice. It really brings out the photos.
After we were ready to get back on the trolley again, we realized we still had a good bit of time before the trolley would be around again. Then we remembered that the trolley driver mentioned that Ye Olde Pepper Companie (the spelling is correct as it is on the storefront) was the oldest candy store in America and the chocolate was the best anywhere. He went on to say that Oprah Winfrey ordered her chocolate turtles from this candy store.
Oh my gosh! We just wanted to walk in to “see what they had,” we walked out with 2 almond turtles (one milk chocolate and one white chocolate) and 2 pecan turtles (one milk chocolate and one white chocolate) as well as other assorted chocolate goodies! We split the milk chocolate almond turtle - it was plenty big for both of us to share! That turtle was huge!
Back on the trolley again we passed a lot of interesting things. We took a lot of pictures from the trolley - all are from Salem but they may be out of order.
