This was my very first scrapbook page which is why it looks plain. It was for my sister, Lois, and I wrote the poem at the bottom left for her.

This Sister of Mine

She might be one year younger than me,
but that don't mean nothing as you will see.
She's the one who taught me how to tie my shoe,
isn't that something, but I'm not through.
She also taught me how to tell time
and fought off my brothers
when they made me cry.

Let me tell you something else you'll think kind of funny.
We both got jobs so that we could earn some money.
I liked to see how fast I could spend every dollar,
while Lois was frugal and saved hers to buy a car.

So off to school each morning in Lois's car we'd go.
To see over the steering wheel she sat on a pillow.
All the kids in school thought the two of us were friends
and couldn't believe it when they found out we were kin.

One thing I can tell you that I know for sure,
I always know that I can count on her.
Through all the years and with life's ups and downs,
I don't believe I've ever seen her with a frown.

I know everyone in the world
would be just fine
if they were as blessed
to have a sister like mine.
