Cindy I am so sorry to read about your Dad and your Friend. I searched your gallery to find this LO. You made a sweet comment on my Mustang Lo and mentioned your Grunge LO. I just had to find this. Love what you did here. TFS Barbara
Cindy Lou Whoo......I love your layout, but I especially love the story of your surprise. I am so sorry for your losses, however it sounds like you have a husband that dearly loves you. Thanks for sharing, and I'm glad to meet another Cindy Lou Who. Smiles....take care! CLW
wow-what a special gift and an awesome LO to commemorate it!great story...what a guy, getting you all worked up like that!It was worth it though,eh?!love all the distressing and details here!
Great job on this Cindy! I love it! I like your grunge/distress look to it. You have so many cute little embellies. Those are awesome flowers you made too! Is that a punch between the car & the key chain? I really like it! I like all the photos, the full car shots, and the detail close up shots also. I bet you had a ball making this LO! I think you should drive that over to my house and take me for a ride! TFS the LO & the story! Again great job on this... just too cool!
Oh I love your story! A Mustang was the very first car I bought with my own money...way back when. It was gorgeous -- white with chamois color leather interior and shiny wire wheels. Then I got married. And now I drive a JEEP with neoprene interior, complete with muddy paw prints on it. <sigh>
My brothers would tell you that I was spoiled as the youngest of 7 kids. I disagreed then because I think I'm spoiled now. My husband was suppose to take my car to get the oil changed one September day in 2007. Well, he got the oil changed, paid for it, then decided to look at the Mustangs (my favorite car). I came home that day and couldn't open the garage door automatically. He waved me down and told me to turn off the truck because he had something to tell me. He told me that my car wasn't the same anymore...that something happened to it. I was thinking the car was sitting in the garage in a metal heap and that he was in an accident- not realizing he was just fine. He kept telling me that the car wasn't the same anymore. He had me so worked up about the car by what he was saying I was almost to tears. Then he told me "Honey, your car isn't the same anymore because..." (then he opened the garage door manually) "it turned into a pony!" My first comment was "WHAT DID YOU DO???" Not "Oh my goodness it a new car!" Or "Thank you Honey." It was "What did you do?" This was my early 40th birthday present from him. He had been planning this for quite some time, so he told me. Even the guys he works with knew about his planning. 2007 was a very difficult year for me...I lost my father in January and just 2 weeks before he gave me this car, my very close friend of 35 years died of Hodgkin's disease. Needless to say, I burst into tears. This was suppose to be one of those "If I win the lottery, I'm going to buy a Mustang." Well, I did win the jackpot --- I married him. I am a very proud owner of a Mustang. I love it and am very glad I finally sat down to do a grunge LO. I did some extra creative stuff for this LO and will share those in a different post. Thanks for looking!!
