good luck on changing THAT habit. My DH never puts dishs in the dishwasher, he always says "but I can't tell if the dishes in it are clean or dirty". Hogwash. So I clean the kitchen and watch the sink fill up with his dishes.

just the opposite here, to me horizontal surfaces are display space, to my dh they are work surfaces.

July 14--clutter free counter tops!

I spent a good part of my morning cleaning my kitchen. Unfortunately, I have this battle with DH that as soon as I clear the clutter from the counter tops, he always fills it back up. It's like he can't stand to see clear spaces! Just a never-ending battle..about 15 minutes after I finish cleaning, he was in there making lunch (you can't see the island in this picture) and he manage to have dishes everywhere!!!!
