My oh my! You do have a lot of goodies in your space! I thought I had a lot! Now I feel a bit jealous. Lol.
It is all well organized too but I'm wondering how you remember where everything is. Do you keep some kind of inventory?
Carol!! Every so often I have to take a trip through your craft room. Today I can see several items that were in your cupboard that are now in my scrap room! How fun for me! Thanks again!!!
This is as far as I got just now. I see the blue walls and love the blue drawer knobs! I've drooled on your site long enough. But, I'll be back again tomorrow!
Ro, Thank you for your wonderful comment about my craft room. to answer your question, yes there is something I don't have in my room; a sink to clean up my tools and stuff.....YET! We are renovating the basement and my room is moving to the basement with my own sink, more cabinets, a larger work table and photo studio.
Nanalovesyou,
Hi there, Thank you for your wonderful praises. During my working years i had a reputation for organization and time management skills. I was pleased to see you had returned to my gallery. I assumed you saw all my craft room photos on Sep 3rd when you asked me about the covers for my machines. To answer your questions: The cabinets and the narrow ribbon drawers are all standard cabinets that can be purchased from any branded cabinet maker. I got my wall and base cabinets from Home Depot. The narrow ribbon drawer is actually a "spice drawer" cabinet. Do I have a store? Not any more. I shut down the purchase side of my website ( Scrapbooks-n-More ) in 20018 when I retired. Now my website is my main gallery, Blog and Tips and Techniques. I still make cards and scrapbooks to order. I'm getting ready to update it with my 2021 cards and scrapbook pages. Check it out next week.
Wow! I just spent the last half hour of my life surfing all around your gallery! Oh my goodness girl friend, you do have lots and lots of inventory. Do you have a store?
Virginiareal, Thank you so much for viewing my Craft Room. It was hard going from a 21' x 15' room to a 10' x12' room. I eliminated approximately 70% of my craft supplies and tools. I'm elderly and have knee issues too. The only reason I'm moving to the basement is I will have my own sink in the room for cleaning things up. If you can make your craft room next to a bathroom, kitchen or laundry room, put plumbing for a sink in your room as part of your building plan and put your electrical outlets above the counter tops and your worktable.. I have a six plug power strip mounted on the front of my table (which is 60" W and 36" deep), two more on the under side of my table and two above the counter top where my Large HP Printer is located. If you go back and look at picture #22 you'll see the power strip. Best wishes on your new home and Craft Room.
Thank you for posting these photos. I hope to build our final home in a year and I will also have to downsize my craft space. You are planning to move to the basement but I’m trying to avoid going to the basement. I worry that my hips and knees will make it too hard for me in the future so I’m trying to keep my craft room on the main level. I wonder what others do in planning for their future and final home.
Thank you so much for your comment. No I did not make them. I purchased these from "Kathy's Cozies" on Etsy. She makes covers for everything and you get to pick the fabric. That's how I have covers that match my paint colors.
If you missed picture # 4 you can see the covers she made for my other machines.
Thank you.
Marianna,
Thank you so much for your comment. I means a lot that you like it
Answers to your questions:
The color is a Behr paint color - Blue is Dark Denim # S510-7 , White is Frost # BL-W15 from Home Depot.
Tall cabinets are also from Home Depot size is 18"W X 18"D X 72"H. I've had these since 2009. I had 31 of these in my previous former home work room, so that gives you and idea of what I disposed of.
I use various sizes of flat stackable plastic boxes (Brand is "Really Useful Box) for storage. The plastic boxes in the stackable frame are from Michael's or Hobby Lobby.
In my previous home work room I actual had more craft supplies than Hobby Lobby (this included six of the tall cabinets filled with cardstock and paper pads). How did I decide what to eliminate? I eliminated everything that was not related to the primary themes that were predominant in my customers design preferences or purchases. My primary themes are Christmas, Holidays, special evens, Weddings, Travel and vacation. I kept all of my glitter, foil and handmade paper stock. I eliminated all of my Jewelry making supplies.
I sold everything to two secondhand craft stores here in the Denver Metro area. What I couldn't sell I donated. Items I eliminated include,
paper, embellishments, tools, die cutting machines, duplicate dies and embossing folders and much more. It broke my heart but it all went to good places.

Your organization skills are amazing! You really get the most out of your available space. I like the wall color- what did you use? I like the tall cabinets too. Where did you find them? I'm also interested in how you decided what to get rid of...was it just weeding out duplicates or did you use other criteria?
Thanks!
There are 28 pictures to see. Hope you look at them all. Would like to hear your thoughts.
I used to have a 12' x 21' craft room in my previous house. In 2019 I retired and we sold that house and moved into our smaller home. Now I have a 10x12 craft room (1/2 as big). needless to say I had to eliminate nearly half of my craft supplies before we moved. "Bummer." Because I have so much supply of everything I had to better organize my space so we used the Master Bedroom of the new house for my Craft Room. I will eventually get to move to the basement and have more space when we finish remodeling the basement. So I get to rebuild everything for a third time, but it will look the same.
I was able to keep all of my wall and base cabinets, but I had to eliminate 8 of my large tall cabinets. You'll see those in one of my pictures.
I spend most of my daytime working on craft projects. I just finished last month a 42 page wedding scrapbook for my best friend's daughter. Now I'm working on her honeymoon scrapbook and at the same time her mother's Hawaii vacation scrapbook. They both went to Kauai. So I can do two pages, same design, different pictures.
I hope you like what we've done with my Craft Room.
