Hi There! Ive been using scrapbook paper more and more to create my own embellishments, which lowers the cost of scrapbooking. Here are a few things I think about when selection pattern paper to create a custom kit.
Some scrapbook papers, like the tag paper used on this layout, are readymade embellishments. I always include a sheet of pattern paper like this in my kit, because the tags can be used as either an embellishments or journal spots.
The next thing I look for is scrapbook paper with lots of images that I can fuzzy cut to create embellishments, like the cabin in the lower right. Including a sheet I can fussy cut provides a ton of embellishments for the cost of a sheet of paper.
Another great idea is to include a sheet of journal spot paper. The journal spot in the top left corner was cut from a sheet of premade journal paper. Its both decorative and useful, so a win win!
Hope these ideas help you build your own custom kit.
