Hi There! When I have a day with multiple activities I like to create companion scrapbook layouts. Companion layouts are two separate layouts that coordinate with each other. This technic is great to use when the layouts will face each other in my scrapbook album, but what Im documenting is two distinct activities that are related - for example, they happened the same day.
Companion layouts feature the same paper and same sorts of embellishments, but are distinctively different layouts.
Often I dont have two sheets of the same paper, so thats when I turn to paper piecing. Cutting two sheets of scrapbook paper in to a 5 piece and a 7 piece is a great option. It provides a nice balance, but isnt symmetric which makes the layout less formal. Thats exactly what I did with this layout. Youll see its companion in the next post.
