The regrets run deep - I had no idea just how bravely my dad was in facing his many health challenges. It was only after he passed, that I learned that besides bone cancer, he was struggling with depression, was diagnosed with signs of Alzheimers, and had just learned the cancer had moved to his brain. On top of all that, he was taking care of my 90-year-old mother who is a challenge herself. He managed it all without complaining or sharing with me just hard it was. Whenever I visited, he always had a smile, said he was doing well, that the meds and treatments were helping, and that I didnt need to worry. He kept teaching, kept up with the latest trends and movies, and talked of where wed go when he felt stronger. He always had hope and so much love for his family. (Sorry for the TMI journaling, but its cathartic to share and remember him publicly.)
