Journaling Reads:
I clearly remember the day you were born. It was St. Patrick's Day 2005. I was away at college in Pennsylvania and you were born in New Jersey. Grandad called to tell me that your Mommy had to have a c-section, so you would be coming into the world that day! I was so excited, and so was the rest of the family. But there were some complications when you were being born and you had to be put in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NIC-U). Your Mom was scared, and we were all praying for you.

I was still at school and I was supposed to work for a professor that night, but I asked her if it was ok for me to miss the class I TA'd for to go see my new nephew. She said of course! I told her that there had been some problems when you were being born and that you were in the NIC-U. That night, my professor and the whole class prayed for a fast recovery for you. Before you were even a day old, there were people asking God to bless your life. So I drove down to the hospital.

I made it just before they were about to transfer you from Mainland to Atlantic City Medical Center. That was a very hard time, especially for your Mom, she was very sad that you had to go away for a little while to get better. I had brought my camera just in case and was only able to get a few pictures before you had to leave. Everyone asked, why do you want pictures of Kevin when he is sick? I told them it was because the pictures would show how strong you are and what a fighter you were. After a little while in the hospital, you were able to go home to your Mommy and Daddy, and they were so happy. You were a beautiful, healthy baby boy. The whole family was praising God that you were home safe, and we have not stopped thanking Him since. We love you Kev!
