a great page Glenda. glad that you shared this. you are some special mom! it's not always easy to share personal detail with people, but I find in the end it is very therapeutic.
Wow, how intense. I so hope you found something therapeutic in doing this layout, something to help you through your own difficulties with this issue as well. I know it was difficult for you to do and to share it here, but thank you.
I sure hope you're out of that relationship! I got out of one over 20 years ago and it was the best thing I could have done for my kids! Hope and thoughts to you all!
I HOPE YOU ARE NOT STILL IN THAT RELATIONSHIP. I'M SO SORRY FOR YOU BOTH. I GIVE YOU SO MUCH CREDIT FOR SCRAPPING THIS TYPE OF THING. MY FATHER WAS ABUSIVE ALSO. WELL, WHAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED ABUSE THESE DAYS. IN THOSE DAYS, IT WAS KEEPING YOUR KIDS IN LINE, AND TEACHING THEM RESPECT. (more like fear, and hate!!)
I work with people with depression and my DD suffers frequently. It is such a crippling and soul destroying illness. I only hope scrapping brings you some relief from the exhaustion of this illness. xxx
This is such a touching page, thank you so much for sharing this with us, this can't have been an easy decision. I'm sorry for the pain you and your family have been through, and I do hope all will get better for you both. Take care!
This is so beautiful and from your heart. I agree with you...no one knows depression until one has been there themselves. It is so hard to see your child go through any kind of abuse. A big hug to you girl...I wish I could put into words all that I feel after seeing this layout. You chonicled it beautifully.
wow.. it must have been very cathartic to scrap this. I'm sorry for your pain.. it is so tough on a mom to be unable to help her child, unable to fix it. And some things you just can't fix, they have to fix it themselves..all you can do is be there. *big hugs*
I really can feel your pain as a mother. We certainly feel our children's pain, and nothing we can do makes it better. We can only be there for them. I pray that things get better for yours as well as my own.
This is very touching, indeed. I like the use of the brick look effect on the certain pictures, it really sends the message well. This is why we do what we do: to preserve the things that make us who we are. Even when it hurts.
This is what I refer to as scratherapy...it helps to take the negative aspects of our lives and work through them...it has me at any rate. Thanks for sharing this Glenda, it couldn't have been an easy layout for you to do.
Great design. Sorry to see anyone go through depression and abuse. Great job scrapbooking it. while they are not happy, smiley pics, they are life memories. Great job and God Bless.
Wishing you and your family the best of luck tackling your struggles. Good for you for scrapping this. Scrapping isn't always about the happy times - scrapping is about real life. My thoughts are with you and your family. xx
I am so sorry that you and your son must go through this, and I do understand that these things are so very hard to deal with.. God bless you both and be with you.. This is so important as the last person said and I will make it a favorite because it means so much.. Bless you.. and because dear I do understand!!!
Powerful page! Love the "brick" wall crossing the pages and how it (to me) represents being blocked in and struggling to break free. Hope things get better! I know how hard it can be when someone you love has to live through this.
Narcistic socipaths seldom feel regret nor remorse for their actions, only thoughts are about themselves. You must get him out of your life while you can.
This is for the two-page challenge, the large photo challenge, and the hidden journaling challenge.
I'm glad the journaling is hidden. I've had this page done for sometime and debated about putting it up, as the detailed journaling was depressing.
We can never do enough for our children. My son has got in this shape because of abuse. From my spouse (mental and verbal) One problem just makes the other one worse.
The photo on the right s 8X10. There are leaf stamping from the "Cinnamon" kit. The hidden tag is round and under a photo. This wasn't easy for me to do. It is certainly one of the reasons I am depressed. Depression is one of the worst diseases you will ever go through.
The system has gone nuts again. It is not Afternoon Fiesta. It is not Subtle Distinction, It is not girls night out. It is Autumn Leaves Digital Elements by sb.com It is Cinnamon Digital Elements by sb.com It is Teal Tranquility by sb.com
If I delete anything, the ones that belong disappear. The stamping I want to show is in the Cinnamon Digal Elements by sb.com
I hope that gets fixed soon. It did it the other day too.
