I bought this box for $.97 at Walmart and I can't believe how beautiful it turned out! And it was so easy. This was my first "altered art" project. I was able to ocmplete it in one evening, including drying times. I painted the whole box (although I didn't paint the inside) with metallic copper paint. Then, I cut BasicGrey paper the size of each side of the box minus 1/4", that way, each paper was "matted" by the copper paint. This made decoration easy, clean, and stylish. For the top I did the same thing, except I took two chipboard dragon flies, painted and glittered them, and popped them up off of the tp of the box. The ribbon is DCWV (I got the $50 pack free from here!). It was self-adhesive, a problem I didn't except, so I did a make-shift bow and added a clear button with the purple from the BG paper behind it. Unfortunately the glue made it a little cloudy, but it's alright. I love it and right now I'm altering another box. This time: purse shaped!
P.S. -- It's hard to tell, but the wings of the dragonflies are glittered. Sorry about the busy background, I couldn't find a spot with enough light and there was TOO MUCH light outside.
