My mother in West Texas, growing up. 1920's. The large picture she had put in her scrapbook with the title on it so I kept it. The embroidery is a scrap of a design I was trying to work out when my eyes were better and I did silk embroidery. That's what we call a "buffalo gourd"...a wild plant in TX. The title is the first line of a poem my brother wrote for her obituary... I need to do some journaling on this but I'm not sure how...the dog's name is "June Bug". The friend on the cart was her lifelong friend, Margaret. I'm not sure what they are comparing...foot size, leg size, or tans...I don't know who the little boy is she's kissing. I know why scrappers invest in expensive die cut machines...my title was done on my printer and although I scanned the background color, the printer didn't print the same and it came out wrong...but I couldn't think of a solution. It doesn't look quite that bad in real life. I welcome suggestions...
