nice catch, any idea what kind of hawk he is? We have red-tailed hawks here, they are fairly common, but a couple of weeks ago I had a different kind in the yard, I snapped some shots of it and the conservation dept, said it was a Cooper's hawk, but the description in my field guide and what I saw it seemed more like a Northern Goshawk, (but they shouldn't be this far south) so I still don't know what it was but it was really cool to see, glad you finally caught this guy.
Love the Amish Hawk! I think we have a brother/cousin of his here, and I can't get a pic of him either. I think he is also the reason all the smaller birds don't hang around here any more.
I finally got a shot of this hawk, i have been trying for ages! We were calling him the Amish hawk because he knew how to hide from my camera..if I did not have it he would fly down the road right in front of me...well I got you today!
