ok i have to say this is a lot of stuff but you have a big enough space to make it work.
Step 1 - gut out the whole room. paint it or decorate it as you wish.
Step 2 - place you tables and organizers(new or old) where you want them to go. You my have to invest in a paper rack. i use the cube system for my room. they are stackable and great for anything, plus no drilling into walls
Step 3 after you get room situated ORGANIZE. i use the clip it for all my stickers. and i have cropper hopper things for my paper and that is organized by color. and then from there you can figure out the rest.
I am still in the process of organizing my room and I have been at it for 2 months now. It can get very overwhelming! Take small steps. I have all of my like items together. I see that you not only scrapbook, you do crafts, in general. I have storage place dedicated to only my candle making supplies, one for my jewelry making supplies and so on. It makes it sooooo mush easier to find what I am looking for. As you are going through your stash, make sure that it is something that you are going to use. If you aren't going to use it...it's just in your way. Fill a box with the stuff that you aren't going to use and either sell it or donate it to a school. Schools are always appreciative of donated art supplies. I donate the stuff that I'm not going to use to my girls. They have a designated spot for their supplies. I help them to stay organized with plastic bins with drawers and such. Break your time up into shorter increments....if you are in that space all the time....you're going to get soooooo overwhelmed that you may want to throw your hands up and quit. I worked on my space for an hour or so at a time every day and then I did something else. It's going to be an evolving process, as your stash comes and goes. I have lots of inexpensive storage solutions in my room. I try to recycle and reuse everything that I can. I wish you the best of luck! Feel free to ask questions...I am happy to lend any advise that I can. Remember, take baby steps at first. Again, good luck!!
my first step would be to take EVERYTHING out of the room and paint that paneling a nice cheery color, or tear it down altogether. You will feel much better once that is done. Then I would seperate all of it into piles of what it is. All like things should be stored in the same area, for ease of locating. Get yourself some type of shelving, bookcases, or cabinets, whatever your style, and start putting it all away. keep the things you use the most on your workspace. Or at least close to it. There are many different types of storage. I have found that the best way to store things is to make it not too deep, so that you do not have to move something to get to what is behind it. And make the shelves not too much higher than what is being stored on it, this saves a ton of space also. Good luck to you!
well my friend---you got a lot going on in here!! i think the first step would be as the ladies below say--organize--but the looks of it--i think if you look at the BIG picture--your going to get frustrated and overwhelmed!!---so--start slow--you need to make an area for your cutters, and then an area for your embelies then an area for your papers, etc etc ETC!---then--take those items to that area--you may want to empty this room out---maybe let it spill into the other half of the LR for a few days--hubby might complain about that--but just let him know that in a few days he will be very very happy!!---then get your cubes and drawers you have, and tables--and designate each one for a purpose--and only put what is suppose to go there. and its cool to keep the boxes the stuff came in---but get rid of them! they take up too much room. file all the handbooks & warrenty info in a file drawer-----i bet once you go threw everthing--you are gonna find so much double and triple--your gonna be shocked----------i got my room organized because of something i saw on clean sweep a few years ago---the guy said to the homeowner---if you like it so much and it means that much to you--why are you disrespecting it? WOW! that made such an impact on me--and i have used it for everything in my house---if its so great--and i just love it--why am i not showing it---things stuffed in a bag--pushed up under another mountain of stuff--is not showing that you really like the item or appreciate it.---boy!! i sure wish you lived closer--i would be so willing to come and help you--cause i know its frustrating!! i have been there---ALL my best to you!!
Well looks like you could use some major organization. I have and higly recommend a Scraprack; pics in my gallery. It's a little pricey but I had the items needed on my 'wish lists' for birthdays, etc. for two years. Your embellishments will all be organized in ONE spot and you will find what you need instantly. I think you need some storage items; cubes, shelves etc. Have you searched the Scraproom gallery here for ideas?
What I did for my room is to start by going through what I was going to keep and what I was getting rid of. I had so many things that I had been keeping over the years that I said I was going to use....LOL I took alot of things to a local school for teachers to use with their classes. It def takes time but you will be so happy when you are able to use what you have. I had so much I didn't know where to start, I think it kept me from being creative because I was always worried about the many things around me!! Good Luck and do what is best for you. Organizing was my first step!!....
this is an extension to the living room my husband wants me in here he does not like to come home and me in a seperate room, so i really need ya'ls advice how to put this room together.
