If you visit the Burgers Zoo in Arnhem - Holland your journey will take you into the Sonora desert of Arizona and North Mexico. Depending on the season it can be either burning hot or freezing cold. The plants that are growing here tell you that not much rain falls: cacti, agaves, yuccas, and trees and small leafed shrubs all trying to minimise water evaporation. Colourful birds build their nests in the oasis in gigantic cacti or palms. Bobcats lurk and peccaries root between the rocks. A world full of venom from rattle snakes, scorpions or gila monsters but also of beautiful landscapes and flowering plants. A great view for scrapbooking!
