Such a priceless photo and you've created a magnificent layout to show it off. Your family is so fortunate to have such a talented chronicler of their lives.
ooooooh, ahhhhhh, LOVE the PPaislee! Lynn, this is such a treasure. Amazing photo. I especially like how you surrounded it with a shaped matting, and the hand cutting and punching are exquisite. Nice work~
This brings back memories as I attended kindergarten in a 1 room schoolhouse in 1956! I can still remember the cloakroom, the rope to pull the schoolbell, recess & the love & closeness of classmates. Great job, TFS!
wow, this is so cool! I love the colors you used and the beautiful details! that apple with the date on it is adorable! love the idea and love the pic! Great work!!
I know what you mean when you say you wait to scrap something-might be the pp or embellishment that starts the whole precess-love that you journaled all the info and I really like the dsign too! jen
You always work in so many wonderful details, it is a feast for the eyes. This is such a very special picture and you have done a tremendous job making it even more beautiful.
Oh, I so love this! You're right - these are the perfect papers for this photo. I love the way the little white and red flowers overflow onto the right side of the photo. And love too the shape of the blue background paper. Excellent lo!
Fabulous layout. I had to lol at the face of the boy to your Grandma's left. Looks like he's eyeing her bosom. I love the work you did on this layout. tfs.
Wow, amazingly I would have never guess their ages they look like they are at least in their mid 20's. These papers are wonderful, the layering is perfect! Love the 1910 apple.
Beautiful page!!! And what an awesome photo. I love old pictures like that. My imagination goes crazy thinking of the people and what they were thinking and whatever happened to them. You did a great job on this layout and preserving this photo!
Okay....you are so not going to believe this but I have this same photo of my grandmother that went to a one room school house in Missouri!!! I was waiting for inspiration on what to do with it and you have nailed it!! Fabulous LO!!!
Lynn, thank you for sharing the story behind this photo. I would never have guessed these were young people in the picture. We owe so much to our ancestors who cleared the path for us. What a wonderful (and beautiful) tribute to your grandma! The papers are absolutely perfect.
This is absolutely beautiful! I love your take on the kit----it 's fun to see the many interpretations of the same kit! I love how you did the flowers too. You rock, girl! Anna C
what an amazing photo...and you have done an amazing job with it. The flowers look wonderful & I love the distressed apple you have added. Thankyou for the great description too! A fave!
Gorgeous layout..THe papers and colors and embellies are perfect for the photo..love the addition of the school icon, the apple...and the photo..how fun to just gaze at it. Can you imagine what those kids would think of the way kids dress now. They're 13?!! all the girls have...uh...bosoms.....must be the blousiness of the dresses..teehee..and that one guy next to your grandmother looks like a modern day guy with a sweater and shirt on. TFS and well done!!!
The inspiration for this layout is an amazing photo of my Grandma at a rural Missouri one room schoolhouse. The photo was used as proof of my Grandma's age. She had no birth certificate & this was considered documentation of her age. She was born in 1897 & was 13 year old & in the 8th grade when the photo was taken in 1910. The children look so much older .. they all had to do hard hard work at that time. She is on the far left leaning against the school. I have had the picture for some time, but was waiting for the perfect papers. If you notice in the picture you can see the dried leaves & dirt roads . When I opened the My Creative Scrapbook September main kit I knew it was perfect!! I have details on my blog if you would like to take a look! thanks Friends! http://prettypaperswirls.blogspot.com/
