A very sad lil story with a very happy ending, your so lucky to have your sister, adopted or not, I only have me no b/s I guess that,s why I have always flanked myself with friends. Adorable foto and in my eyes you look so much alike, wonderful lo
Lesley, what an awesome lo. I love your journaling and love your story. You are very fortunate to be such good friends! Wonderful lo for the challenge!
Beautiful journaling.......so touching and sweet......how lucky you are to have her in your life and she....you!!!! A beautiful page and I love the colors...the photo is lovely!!!!
This is wonderful Lesley. Your story about those years for Peggy is completely captivating --- as is the closeness you two share. The layout is beautiful -- - but your's always are!
Loved the journaling. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. I also was adopted . They got me when I was 8 hours old. But mine was a wonderful adoption. i was always treated like a queen, not only by mom and dad but the whole family. I was truly blessed. Love this lo. It's very special.
Your journaling is wonderful Lesley. I try to treat my kids exactly the same. I felt so sad reading this because I know how your sister feels. I had the same issue growing up. My Step Dad treated "his" kids differently than me. I'm so glad that you two are close! Such a gorgeous layout for SO many reasons.
Lovely papers and I love the swirl and think it looks good with the gnome holding it down. The inverted scallop around the mat is very cool and the journalling brought a tear to my eye.
Beautiful journaling Lesley and I say, also, that you are very blessed to have each other! Great job on the challenge and a beautiful page! Love the colors you used here and the pink flamingo.
Weird to have a gnome as the twist....but, you did it! Your journaling about the friendship between you and your sister is wonderful, Lesley. How amazing that through it all, she's loved you and you've become the best of friends. I'm sure she feels the exact same way about you. What a gift! Love the whole beachy feel to this pretty page (minus the gnome!).
This page is for a challenge on one of my group threads here. It as about friendship and who has been there for you to pick you up...twist was a garden gnome...so yes, there he is, and yes, I've taken another pick of the layout w/out the little fellow lol...
Journaling says; "My sister; someone I can rely on to tell me when I'm wrong, to listen when I'm down, to help me out when I need help, to care for how I feel when those close to me make me sad.
Her name is Margaret but always known to me as Peggy, my adopted sister who didn't do it easy growing up. My parents had a son; then the much wanted baby daughter. Unfortunately she only lived a few hours and mum was advised not to have any more children, so she adopted, having always wanted a daughter.
Then 2 years later I was born, and although through my growing up years, I did not notice Peggy was treated differently, once she had married and left home, and I had grown up mentally, I started to think about the way things had been, and even now she will tell me things I haven't throught of and immediately I can recall them, things that hadn't been right between my parents and the way they treated me differently to Peggy. Things that these days would not be acceptable despite their love for her.
Despite all that, she is my crutch, my friend, my someone special and only person I can talk about absolutely anything with, I guess you can say she is and always has been ...my only rock".
I used Cricut cartridge 'Stamping' for the outer border and unfortunately I didn't take that good a pic of it so the left edge got a little distorted and cut in the straightening process I'm sorry. But the pic w/out the gnome is fine of course..lol..
