What a great intro/title page for your Kentucky trip!! I love the colors and your letters! Yeah.. Chicago is crazy as far as the traffic goes!! I have been there a few times, but not any further south. Someday, I hope to make it down to KY or TN!!
what a clever idea to give your children toys at each state line- i will have to remember that!! LOVE the mixed title and overall colors. fabulous!! going into my faves
LOVE this! The cb letters are beautiful -- how did you do the 'road trip' letters? Are they rubons? I just love all the horizontal stripes in this design! Great job! And btw, sorry about Chicago! LOL - welcome to my life :)
I still say that I wish I'd known you then! I would have loved an excuse to take a day off and show y'all the sights! Love the chip board alphas!! Great opening page to the book!!
This one is a little different with no pictures, but I like how it turned out and works as a great into page to the rest of our KY 2007 vacation. The chipboard letters and flower were a gift from Kathy, thanks again! Journaling is: Russ had another business trip to Kentucky, but this time, the kids and I were able to go with him. Hoffman sent him for two weeks to work at the facility in Mount Sterling. However, we stayed in Lexington (about 30 minutes away). We didn’t really know what to expect traveling with Trent and Addy for so many hours in the car. We left about noon on Saturday, June 12 and headed out of Minnesota into Wisconsin. I made bags with treats for the kids and every time we passed into a new state, they would get a toy. We stopped at a roadside rest station just inside Illinois to eat dinner, run around a little and to put on pajamas. The worst part of the road trip was about to happen. Chicago. Bumper to bumper traffic at 10pm! Russ doesn’t get mad very often, but after inching along for almost 2 hours, he was done. Luckily, the kids slept through all of it and we found a motel to stay at once we had passed the state line into Indiana. The next morning we continued our journey through Indianapolis and then into Louisville, Kentucky and on our way to our final destination in Lexington. Overall, the kids did a great job on our road trip! The Marriott Hotel became our home for the next 2 weeks. The following pages tell about our many adventures and fun in the blue grass state!
